Bad workmanship and overpriced

My mother who was in her 80´s needed to have alot of work done to her house. She was recommended Stephen Lawrence by a friend who had had her bethroom done by his firm. My mother, who has since passed away, for months was continually calling Stephen to come and do repairs to the work he had done. He charged my mother 54,000 pounds for all the work. The problems started within a few months of completion. The electrical wiring which was totally replaced and electrical board, was shorting with anything and everything, cracks which were supposed to be have been filled reappeared, the new bathroom was a total mess..he didnt even put any mirrors in..the cistern broke within 6 months, the taps also discoloured, the grouting came out, the tiles are falling out, the shower is having to be totally repalced, the tiles on the ground floor kitchen are being repaced, they broke within 6 months because they weren´t laid on a flat suface, the wooden floor boards which were fitted have gaps everywhere. the whole house was painted, but to an amateur standard. None of the cupboards or curtain rails were removed to paint behind them. The 32KW Potterton boiler which had been working without problems, which probably needed a service, was removed and a small 24KW boiler was installed. we have since found out that it is inadequate for the size of the house and has also been giving nothing but problems and is having to be constantly repaired. The pump installed was put in without a rubber casing and put on floorboards so the noise of the pump comes on every time water is run, even if you flush the toilet, at night time it disturbs the whole house. The central heating which was installed was badly done, microbore pipes were used for the top floor and the radiators struggle to heat up, possibly thet are partially blocked. Mr Stephen Lawrence changed the central haeting system but didn´t even put ina hew thermostat which would have cost about 5 pounds. He left in the 30year old thermostat which was there originally! We are still waiting for the return of a large painting which fell off the wall after it had been painted. The large dustbins outside were used to carry out the debris from inside the house and wwere never repalced. Kitchen utensils, teabags, milk, was used by the workmen and never repalced...This work took 2-3 months, even though it was supposed to be have been completeed earlier. My mother and my sister had to go and stay with different relatives till the work was completed. I can honestly say, I would not recommend Mr Stephen Lawrence to my worst enemy.. He did a totally substandard job, he overcharged my mother because the quality and workmanship were appalling!! We are now in the process of having to redo all of the work. Up to now the firm we are using are repairing and replacing almost all of the work done by Stephen Lawrence and the amount we have been quoted is a lot less than what my mother was charged!!!
