I took advantage of an offer an dtook my whole family to Strada for a meal. There were 4 of us and none of us enjoyed the experience. The food had clearly been in a freezer, warmed up and then thrown on to a plate. No presentation and no taste or flavour. The staff were fine. The atmosphere was poor too.

Good food, lively atmosphere

On a weekend in Portsmouth, we wandered in with no booking. The restaurant was packed solid but we were accommodated within 10 minutes, and had a drink at the bar in the meantime. The drink I had at the bar was not to my satisfaction and replaced with no problem.Once seated the service was very good, even though the restaurant was chocca. The atmos. was lively, and had lots of different age ranges. The menu choice was extensive, and as a fussy non meat eating person, there were 3/4 dishes I could have chosen from. Bread was brought to the table to nibble on (no charge) which was generous. The starter of the peppers and mozzarella was divine, the ravioli was good, and only the sugared pears let the meal down (too hard). My partner enjoyed his food too - garlic bread and steak. An enjoyable night out which we would do again with no hesitation.

Strada really is a little find. Its clean the staff are friendly and the food is fresh and tastes delicious. I was left slightly confused though! Yes the atmosphere is pleasant and warm I can't make up my mind whether it felt like I was in a posh resturant or a private school canteen. On another note the pizzas are great, I went there recently looking for a Calzone but there wasn't one on the menu. In all fairness none of the italian resturants had Calzone on the menu. All in all would recommend this place, its really is a lovely place and with great coffee.

really nice

I love strada, ihave been to a few other restaurants in this chain, but never actually been to the one in my home town. Until now that is!Although the service isn't perfect, and this is the same across the entire chain, it is still good. My main issue is that its just too slow. Even more so when you are in a larger group. It certainly isn't a place to go if you just have an hour! However when the food arrives, you soon forget this. (although it doesn't always come out at the same time!). The pizza's are delicious, such a varied range of toppings, and they are so thin and crisp - none of the that stodgey stuff like pizza hut!

Italian out of the usual

I love this place! It is a really nice setting of Gunwharf Quays. iT is an italian restaurant but slightly posher than the usual. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. The menu is really refreshing - a different twist on the usual italian dishes with some unusual pasta types and delicious sauces. There are also meat dishes and the most enormous pizzas. The dishes are made with really fresh ingredients. The deserts are divine - the best panna cotte i have had! The service is always superb and they even let you order meals to collect! it's well worht a meal out.

Strada

The Strada restaurant is at gun wahrf quays and it has a good setting. It is modern and clean and quite popular with locals and visitors alike. The menu has itallian influences and we have found that the dishes on offer are nice. The king prawns in garlic are a favorite as is the sea food linguine. The pizzas are great too. They serve some fresh tasting italian wines and the usual soft drinks are available. I think the lunch menu starts at around £7.50 which is very good. then after lunch you can head on down to the shops.

Meals at Strada

Service

This is a great italian restaurant in Gunwharf Quays which is located along the canalside. There is lots of outside seating which makes a really pleasant lunch or evening meal. There is a range of pasta - some more unusual dishes than standard italian restaurants, such as a gorgeous riagattoni. There are also many pizzas including buffula mozzerella and tomato. The pizzas are enormous and big enough to share. The deserts are delicious - try the pannecotte. The staff are very friendly and prices are reasonable. Check out the website for details on offers and how you can save money.

Gunwharf is great for a night out and this lovely Italian restaurant overlooks the water and as evening draws in has a lively but intimate atmosphere. We had an excellent meal, I particularly enjoyed the basil, tomato and buffalo mozzerella salad, gorgeous!! We were a large party and unfortunately the staff serving our table seemed to struggle a bit and we ended up with a somewhat confused order and some missing desserts but all was sorted out eventually. The menu is varied and attractively presented. Tiramisu is just lush! The venue itself modern in design, lots of wood and clean lines, the toilets were good, something I'm particularly fussy about!!
