We arrived without pre-booking.Our reception was really welcoming,after being to several other hotels we found that the staff here were lovely, they went out of their way to make you feel relaxed. The Hotel is very clean, there is a special designated smokng area at the back of the hotel which prevents people crowding at the front steps spoiling the tone of the hotel. The food was excellent, I struggle to believe why it is only a 2 star Hotel, I have stayed in hotels rated as 3 and 4 star and not had such lovely food. If I was to critize, one thing it would be that the meals are served very speedily, so there is no real time to relax over ones food, before I had had the oppportunity to read the menu I was asked what I wanted. the meal was 6-7pm if you sit down at 6pm you have completed 4 courses by 6.25pmWe had a sea view room and its worth it, the room was very pleasant, tea and coffee and plenty of milk and biscuites. I would stay in this hotel again if it wasn't in Blackpool. Its was only the fact that the season was dead and the weather was horrid that made me feel this way, although many of the attractions were closed and many old hotels were delapidated in the vacinity, clearly Blackpool has seen better years, I would anticipate that soon this sea side resort will decline beyond recognition, Many people were saying they will be off to Spain next year as its the same price, its a tragic shame that our own sea side resorts are in this mess.Ah well it was still good for a break, and if anyone likes the odd unannounced break to our coast line and finds themselves in Blackpool I would stay here at the Stretton
