The Sullivan family has been established as a scrap metal merchant since 1967 and has prospered and grown for nearly half a century thanks to its unrivalled service to those who trust us most – you our customer. We are a family run business and members of the BMRA (British Metal Recycling Association) and are the first point of call for those requiring a quick, friendly, honest and efficient service. We pay top industry prices.

What we Buy

We buy any metal that a magnet does not stick to! WE BUY copper, brass, gunmetal, lead, PVC wire and cable, aluminium, alloy wheels and stainless steel. WE DO NOT BUY iron or steel or household appliances or offer a collection service. Please call to inquire if you want to sell any metals not listed above. We are fully licenced and open six days a week. All customers must arrive by vehicle.

HOW WE PAY

Payment since 2012 is by law no longer in cash. We pay by:

1. Cheque
2. Direct instant bank transfer.
3. Pre-paid Sullivans Visa card.

We will need photo ID in the form of either a current UK driving licence OR a passport WITH a household utitlity bill which is no more than 3 months old. Please phone for further details. This is to ensure all suppliers of scrap metal are bona fide and is for your protection as well as ours.

WHAT IDENTIFICATION DO WE NEED FROM YOU TO BUY SCRAP METAL?

Acceptable forms of ID are:

1. A UK Photocard driving licence (fine on its own).
2. A passport supported by either a utility bill such as gas, electricity, water, council tax or home telephone. (Please note. Mobile phone bills are not permitted by license regulations.). Supporting utility bills must NOT be older than three months. However, council tax for the year is permitted. Modern foreign identity cards are not allowed.

We often get asked if we sell copper tube and fittings.
As Scrap metal Merchants most of what we have is used and damaged and not suitable for re-use.

We no longer offer this service directly. However we can recommend a good company whom we use often to facilitate this requirement.
