Internally these methods can be applied to user logon to a domain, internal websites and intranet applications. Externally they can be used for perimeter user authentication allowing access to Outlook Web Access (OWA), intranet applications and a Virtual Private Network (VPN) giving a user the ability to securely perform their daily work tasks from anywhere with an internet connection.
