THH are a DISASTER

THH did 2 jobs for me in quick succession. A mains water leak, two guys dug a hole for an hour and said they don't know how to fix it and said the bill for digging was 240 pounds. They quoted 450 to completely fix the leak. They came to fix a leaking toilet, rushed teh job, said it was done, I pad 114 pounds. The toilet has leaked ever since and they wont come back to check it. When speaking to them on the phone they are rude and arrogant, the owner Kevin Thorner is the worst of all. Just a disgrace of a company.

I engaged Dyno Rod to remove 2 radiators temporarily while we had painting and decorating work completed. This was passed to their franchise THH Plumbing Services in Telford. The engineer arrived while I was at work, but my wife reported that he completed the work surprisingly quickly. Overnight the downstairs radiator valve leaked significant water into our carpet. I called Dyno, who in turn contacted THH Plumbing to send the engineer again. This time I was home. Again the engineer seemed to want to complete the work quickly and be gone. He adjusted the leaking radiator valve and was about to leave. I asked him to check the system as all the water from the radiators was empty, as it was not in our downstairs carpet. We had no hot water or heating. The engineer seemed quite satisfied with that. Shocked, I insisted he refill the system, bleed the radiators and endure the boiler was able to started. Due to the way he completed the work it took a while to get the boiler running. That night the repaired valve leaked again, and all the water from the heating system further leaked into our downstairs carpet which was now drenched. I contacted Dyno again and ask they didn’t send the same engineer. I was genuinely terrified and worried how would someone vulnerable deal with such a situation. When I learned the same engineer was coming I cancelled the appointment and recruited an emergency plumber. The emergency plumber identified that the valve was a 10mm to 15mm coupling, but was not likely the source of the leak as the valves have a frost setting to allow small passage of water though the system to prevent freezing in the pipes. However he replaced the valve and capped it. Belt and Braces. At this point I’d paid £87 to Dyno, £120 for the emergency plumber and £15 for a new valve. My carpet was also soaking wet and stained. I contacted THH plumbing to complain and basically asked they pay for the emergency plumber and make good my carpet. I sent the requested evidence for their investigation. A week later I received a call saying they didn’t believe they were at fault and were not going to pay. I contested this with further points of clarity. I asked to speak directly to the CEO. I said I was only asking for the emergency repair to be refunded and I’d clean the carpet myself if I could for £40 with a rental wet vac. A few days later I received an official reply, stating the CEO didn’t not believe they were at fault. I’ve since complained to the franchise owner Dyno, but the ultimate arbitration is with THH Plumbing. I’m now faced with having to replace the carpet at £650 and engage a solicitor to recover costs. I am not angry and I won’t pass judgement in my comments here, but let you decide if you feel this is fair.
