Avoid like the plague Reported to BBC Watch Dog and Trading Standards and CAB Legal proceedings started to get my money back Appalling service from the moment after I paid my deposit (yes, funny that) until now, 4 weeks later, still the wrong glass back on my sony Xperia Z5 compact, returned it once, at my cost, under 'warranty' as their replacement back fell off as I undid the phone, my fault apparently, so they refixed it for me, after I paid return postage, but used wrong back. Now what? Back cracked upon opening as they didn't even package the box. No mention VAT until after deposit paid, in small print on print out label. I gave wrong model (?) so extra £25, still no mention VAT. Huge con start to finish. Trading standards on their way. Ignore signed for letters and emails to CEO. Huge SCAM. DO NOT go near them. Do NOT send them your phone.

The laminated glass screen protector that was broken and I was a bit dubious at first sending my phone off to a company I found on the internet. Customer service was friendly and helpful and their operation was slick. I would use again and recommend to others.

I lost a smart phone to these guys, simple cracked screen repair resulted in a device that is complete beyond repair. Terrible workmanship, they introduce more problems than they solve. Search YouTube or just read the *REAL* reviews here (the ones that aren't posted by this companies employees) and you will see the true horror of what this company does. I hope to see everyone involved in running this company brought to justice.

Don't risk it. Have been battling for over a month because I decided I didn't want them to do repair, partly due to cost and also I'd seen a few reviews. Even though I made it clear I didn't want repair they went ahead and are now refusing to return my tablet. Being held to ransom and they are contravening consumers act.

They are not qualified to repair devices. I ended up having to tell their obnoxious technician what Was wrong with my phone. He chose to ignore me because he knew he had damaged it. The people giving 5 stars should get a second opinion on their so called repair and see if they still think they got value for money.

They know NOTHING about phones or laptops and their is a 90% chance you will either a) Lose your item or b) Get it back unrepaired with a 50 quid bill attached... Easily the worst company in the UK ive had misfortune to deal with.. Customer service? If you enjoy being insulted,then its great! If Not? Went in to fix my water damaged Samsung tab2 repair. Great repair and very friendly staff. These guys really took care of me. Dropped off my Samsung Tab2 on Monday and they returned it in couple of days. Regarding the bad reviews, some people are impossible to please on top of being unreasonable. I definitely recommend this place to others for Mobile/Tablet repair.

My Friend recommended apple repairer because of the wonderful service she received. I have iPhone 5s and the first time for 5 years of owning the iPhone i dropped it and cracked the screen. I took my iPhone to elite. These guys are amazing, professional and knowledgable.They gave the quote and timeline right away. I read all the terrible reviews on here only after sending my phone off to get fixed so I was slightly terrified about what would happen to my phone when it got back. I was a little frustrated by them not quoting the VAT when quoting the price so ended up paying more than I expected. However, they returned my phone in rapid time and it seems to be in perfect condition so can't really complain too much

This company is run by fraudulent crooks. I sent my Macbook pro in to them after it crashed two weeks ago. I was in a rush and stupidly did not read their online reviews first. (If you haven't read them, make sure you check them out - not just on this site, but also on 192.com, pissedconsumer.com and scoot.co.uk to name a few. I suspect that the few positive reviews I have read are ones they wrote themselves - just judging by the grammar level). So they then quoted me £250+VAT (note that VAT is 20%!) for a repair but gave no information about what they had found wrong and what needed repairing. I was immediately suspicious and asked what required repairing. The response was ridiculously vague and at that point I had read up on them so I refused the quote and asked that they send me back my computer. They had originally told me that for £25 they would courier in my computer and diagnose the issue, so £25 was covering the courier costs and diagnostics, and that if I didn't want to go ahead with the repair they would send it back for that price, or if I did go ahead with the repair then that £25 would be credited to the cost of the repair. Suddenly, that changed. I called and spoke with a manager who wanted to know why I didn't want to go ahead with the repair. I said it was because it was (a) ridiculously expensive and (b) totally vague as to what was wrong that needed repairing and (c) judging by all the customer experiences I had read online, your technicians have no idea what they are doing and I don't want them to touch my computer. So here's where things got weird: they dropped the quote for the repair from £250+VAT to £130+VAT, and I again refused the quote and asked them to send it back, and then suddenly I get a message from them saying that the computer repair is done and I have to pay the £130+VAT to get it back. I wrote to them, incredulous that they had gone ahead and done an unauthorized repair, to which their response was 'too bad, you have to pay to get your computer back'. I don't even want to know what sort of state my computer is actually in, but in any event it is currently being held ransom in Manchester until I pay them. I badly need it for work, but I am not going to give in and pay because that is what crooks like this rely on. I am in touch with both the Eccles police (that's their local police station), Trading Standards, and today I am going to start the small claims process to go after them for the cost of my computer and losses from being unable to work while they hold it to ransom (I'm self-employed) and I would encourage EVERYONE WHO HAS HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY TO DO THE SAME. We can get these frauds shut down if enough people contact Trading Standards and you can get your money back if you go through small claims. And obviously, if it wasn't clear enough a this point in my review, if you are considering using them for a repair, DON'T DO IT!!

COWBOY PHONE REPAIR COMPANY - BEWARE!

**PLEASE READ - THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM** I searched up a phone repair company on google and got a quote back very quickly from a nice girl on a mobile number with no mention of the name of the company - all through third party sites, ECT and no mention of the company address ect - bit dodgey but... Sent my phone in for repairs - using a reputable company for couriering, UPS, with same day delivery - I thought what an amazing service. It was "completed" and sent back after £140.00 for a replacement battery and water damage treatment, ECT. I received the phone back on Monday morning - Doesn't work still. Wont hold charge, which is the same issue I sent it in for. Phoned the company and stated that the phone is in worse condition than i sent it in (I now have burn marks on the back of the case). They asked me send it back - to which i refused - and they started being INCREDIBLY RUDE and called me a liar to which i replied the same back. After all of the awful reviews, i wouldn't trust them the second time. PLEASE ASSIST BY REPORTING THIS COMPANY TO TRADING STANDARDS - THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!

My s4 repair took 6 weeks told me a pack of lies my screen was cracked and my LCD went paid them £177 pound had the phone back for 3 weeks and LCD gone again and small crack on it the sensor would play up at times and phone would overheat want another £177 from me did not let me know the cost I'm not paying shocking service and rob you blind do not use this company

I took my phone in to them to replace the audio jack as it had the end of a snapped cable in and I had completely wrecked it trying to remove it. I got my phone back in 24 hours, and it only worked intermittently. On inspection I found the audiojack had not been replaced (I got glue in it which was still there) and when I called to question they said I could take it back in but they would charge me!! After damage they had done to the side of the screen and the lying about work done there is no way I'd of ever taken it back in. I'm considering contacting trading standards and will try to recoup the money spent from my credit card company. Stay clear!

When I got it back it just crashed and did the whole blue screen thing and I was told by another company that it couldn't be repaired. Samsung galaxy s3 screen repairs promised in 48 hours. Sent back with less than perfect screen that stopped working very quickly. Sent back and actually went to pick up. Replacement looked great but imei number was not the same - we had been given another phone which after searching was a reported stolen phone so handed in to police. Had to buy a new phone in the end and lost £180 to elite. This was last year but as they keep trading and we have had no comeback I want to warn others.

Don't even think about using this so called company. I have just used them (or rather they have used me) to fix my Son's Ipod touch screen. First they gave me a low quote,£59 (ex VAT which is in the very small print at the bottom of the page). In the email they asked me to phone them, they then quoted a higher price, £99 (again no talk of VAT). I sent it off to them and it was returned with a new screen but they had damaged the corner, they also reset the device, without informing me beforehand. Also the on/off button was all wobbly so we had to take it elsewhere to fix it. I have written to them a couple of times but they don't reply. I have spoken to them on the phone but they insist on filling in a faults form, which they then don't reply to.

a bunch of con artists they dont include vat with repair price. if you dont go ahead with repair you are then hit with an extra bill of £30 for diagnostic services plus £17 for courier which means you are down £47 for nothing.they now have your goods you have no options no way to turn they know that.after several e mails which they didnt answer.i phoned them to be told i had to pay this hidden charge.to summarise was quoted £89 for new motherboard (without being told about the vat i declined and told them to send it back.they sent another email saying the laptop was beyond repair.not so as the only thing wrong was that it wasnt charging it was perfect apart from that.lies and more lies beware of these scheming low lifes its all about getting your money pure scum dont use these bastards.

Ok, to start i'd like to say if you're reading this review hopefully I have saved you from sending your equipment to this company as they are completely and utterly unprofessional and dishonest. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which I sent off to this company as It was bricked and stuck in a boot loop. Originally I filled in an online query sheet on a different site explaining what was wrong with my phone and asked about a price to fix it. A couple of days later I received a phone call saying they have received my query and if I would like to send my phone in. The guy on the phone said it would cost £17.50 for them to do a diagnostic on my phone. I agreed to pay this as I wanted to know what was wrong with. The guy on the phone said they would pay for a courier to pick up my phone which they did. I couple of days later I received an email with a repair quote. So I logged into my account on their website to check my messages. They quoted me £120 to fix the software problem. I couldn't afford this so I asked them to send the phone back. I got a message back the next day saying it will cost £9.99 to get your phone back. I sent them another message asking if this was to pay for a courier to send my phone back? I didn't received a reply for 3 days then when I logged back in to check my messages there was a message saying "please note we have repaired your phone" at this point I was very angry and phoned them. I was put through to the person who was repairing my phone. He told me the repair is almost complete. I said wait a second I told you not to fix my phone and told you to send it back to me. He said we have no evidence that supports you advising us off that. I explained that I had been speaking to someone through their website message board. He said he didn't have any information of this. I told him I have printed out all of the conversations and have them here. He quickly backtracked and said I will see if my manager will do you a better deal and reduce the price. I said no, just unfix what ever you have done and send my phone back to me. After paying the £9.99 plus vat I received my phone back today. My phone was in a clear microwavable tub with a sticker on it saying "liquid damage" when I turned my phone on it appears it has come back in a worse state than before as now it wont even turn on and go to the logo. There is no liquid damage as I have checked the liquid damage sticker in the back and its the same colour. This company are complete amateurs and dishonest with you from the start. Please avoid at all costs and take your phone somewhere you can trust.

I only give 1 star as I couldn't give any lower... I asked for a quote for the repair of my phone and received a quote for £47, upon receipt of a call I discussed with the caller and agreed that I would pay £17.00 for the device to be collected an assessment made and a call to advise of the costs. I sent my device for repair paying £17.00 for the device to be checked and then advised of repair cost, I never received any call however the device was repaired and I received a bill for £57.50 in addition to the £17.00 which I originally paid, I contacted them to advise the quote was for £47.50 and the £17.00 which I have originally paid would be deducted. Upon speaking to them I managed to get the £17.00 deducted and the cost would be £57.50 in total, not what was quoted. They would not remove the additional £10 charge, however I had to pay it or I wouldn't get my phone back. Avoid these rip off merchants at all cost!!!

I wish to make a complaint and warn other potential customers about a Manchester trading company Elite Phones and Computers LTD, 190a Church Street, Manchester, M30 0LZ This company are both scandalous and shocking to deal with, in all am time that I have dealt with companies , I have never come across any quite like this, it’s absolutely scandalous. This is how this company operates. If you Google 'repair phone screen, or mobile phone repair' or something of that nature, you get sites that offer to give you a free quote if you put your details in. The site won't be elite's website so you won't know your item is going to them. Once you send the request for a quote, a lovely lady (Helen) will call you from cell number, in my case it was 07718173320. She will give you a very low quote and tell you it includes 2 way courier by UPS and UPS can come pick up your item the same day, and she takes a deposit of £17.50 or so over the phone. Immediately you are impressed when you hear a reputable courier like UPS and a low quote. THAT IS JUST TO DRAG YOU IN!!!. Once they get your item, the game changes, it is lies, extortion, threats & deception from that point. In my case, I was quoted £110 (but she does not tell you VAT is not included) to replace a cracked screen, on my sons Galaxy S3 mobile phone, she took £17.50 on the phone. They had my phone for 2 days, got a call from someone called Joann, she said they cannot just change the screen, the LCD has a fault too at an additional cost of £150, she wanted permission from me if I will agree to the increase in cost before they do the job. I told her that the initial web contact from me clearly stated that the phone needed an LCD screen and the cover glass both renewing, all I could get from her was, well it needs the screen changing, and its £167.50 total. I had no choice but agree. Three days later I called to enquire about progress, after a number of tries to get through I, was finally told the phone was finished, and would be posted out that day on a next day delivery i.e. Saturday, com the Monday I again tried to call and was eventually told that it wasn’t sent on the Thursday, but was going today on UPS, and even give a new ups tracking number. I looked on the ups web site and found that this also was a load of rubbish, and they had not collect the phone. Called EP&C back again, got someone else, who told me they don’t use couriers to return phones, they use royal mail. More confusion, and lies. The screen had been replaced. When the phone was turned on it would not work right, the screen colour resolution was extremely poor, all yellows were green, and white text was pink, the screen faded on and off, and it went off on two or three occasions. I called EPC to complain I got an extremely shirty response indeed. Almost to the point where EPC were not going to do anything about it. In the end the woman said she needed to get authorisation to re-repair the phone. She said she’d call back, but never did. Three days later I called them back, again a number of times to see what was happening. I was told to send the phone back to them at my cost, and they would look at it, I asked how long this would take she said 3 days. About 30 phone calls (4-5 of which actually got answered) and several promise, of call backs, emails responses, web site addresses that don’t work, and general bullsh*t, I finely got the phone back dead on 3 weeks later. The phone volume control button on the side of the device does not work now, and it was fine when it was sent to EPC. The screen does actually work now. So this phone repair took one day short of a month to sort. In summary, The EP&C website is full of rubbish and untruths. The initial contact and quote was designed to snag me, and real me in. They knew they intended to charge more. The phone contacts (i.e. conversations) with EP&C are some of the worst I have ever come across in 25 years of operational management. The staff on the phone were really poor un-professional, discourteous, and not very polite, and this does not even include the lies they told. The information given was nearly always wrong, often contradicting each other. Never call back once, or email, despite saying on 7-8 occasion that they would. Lying about couriers and dispatch information, even to the point of giving me a return UPS tracking number, (UPS said no item had been collected) more lies. This company is quite frankly the worst company I have ever had the miss fortune to deal with. To make this point I was one day of calling the Manchester police, and the Manchester city council Trading Standards dept, that’s how poor this company service actually was. Where I can give reviews for EP&C it will unfortunately be a negative review in the extreme. Others need to be made aware of this company’s poor performance and extremely bad working practices.

Recently submitted my new phone for repair. Advised that it was repaired and was charged £95. I had sent my phone to this company to be fixed to operational level not to stare at it like a Picasso. When returned I could switch it on and off - that was it!! Apparently I "agreed" (nothing in writing) to have it returned in that condition and charged £95 for the pleasure of that facility! Unable to use it to make basic calls rendering the phone completely useless. Complained to female member of staff who pretty much laughed down the phone at me and told me to 'Stick it on E-Bay'! I am livid and seeking legal advice - this firm is run by total jokers and ignorant clowns who lack any ability to deal with customers nor cannot fix phones but fleece their customers anyway for telling them!! Avoid like the plague!!! If there was a negative rating for this company, you'd win hands down.

Do not use this company!!! They are impossible to get hold of and when you do finally get hold of them they will either hang up on you or insult you. I have had to contact the Manchester police department due to the refusal to return my item with cost me nearly £700! Mohamed and Ahemad are by far the most rude and unhelpful staff I have ever come across. There are reveiws everywhere saying the same thing. Do not use this company!

We advise customers to call us if they have not heard within the 48 hr schedule as this means there may be additional problems. We do not call the customer unless we are quoting after diagnostics or confirming the repair is complete. We communicate via email and have since upgraded our communication facilities as automatic once there is any change logged on the repair this end, it will send auto email to the customer. Sent my ipad 3 and iphone 4 in to be fixed, ipad 3 had a cracked screen and iphone 4 couldn't hear phone calls, they fixed both within 2 days and phoned me back on 2nd day to make payment then was sent back the same day i recieved the day after, was a struggle to get through as must be a busy company but eventually recieved a phone call and now both sill working and top quality, will come here again

Sent my sons iPod for repair paid £70 for new screen then told needed on/ off button which was working went sent, Returned after 3 weeks to find the on/ off button that cost an extra £10 still didn't work plus now the volume button didn't work. Called them and sent back received back another 3 weeks later and now apparently it is beyond repair what a con I will be contacting trading standards. I have one very upset 9 year old with no iPod

Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish. had nothing but trouble with this company. Very long story but quick low down: Had to keep phoning Trading Standards for advice on how to deal with Them. Terrible customer service, rude and incompetent staff. Sent ipad in for screen repair, came back with different issue. Was told ipad would be fixed in 2 days, 4 weeks later sent to different address (was staying with family over xmas period). Have had to drive 2 hours to collect ipad from family. Nobody ever calls you back. Didn't receive any compensation for how i was treated. Really stressful. If my ipad didn't have such personal information on it i would have told them where to shove it.Finally spoke to a lady after hours of persistence who sorted the situation out, if it wasn't for her i would have driven to Manchester myself.

sent my blackberry in promised a 2 day diagnostic and call to say what the problems was, got my phone back 3 weeks after I called and emailed numerous times , no contact from them. plus £80 for the repair, same problem as before, not repaired terrible customer care. They promise to call back it never happens. They seem to have no method of tracking the property they keep

I wanted my iPad home button and charger replaced but instead 2 weeks later I got the exact same iPad back with no replacements.. Had it sent back again for them to 'fix' but instead got billed for a new screen and almost £200 later I am still not happy. They 'lost my screen protector, charger and suddenly they are too busy to send it back... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! You will only get a headache.. Extremely poor customer service!!! You'll never get an apology, they are too busy to give you one!
