we aranged a 40th wedding anniversary get together there which turned out differently to what we booked all the rooms are beatifully finnished but none of them have a hairdryer something that i would expect for £90 a night all the women with us had to walk aroud with wet hair most of the day when we arrived the romms we had booked had been given to other people and so had the room we had booked for our party we had to have our celebration in the breakfast room, we never once met the person in charge during our stay we only spoke to waitresses. the food at night was amazing and the there was so much of it we were completly overfaced, on the other hand breakfast was terrible half the menu was unavaliable, we orded muffins scrambled egg and smoked salmon the salmon was cooked and the muffins were just bread rolls when we returned home we then had a hpone call from one of the waitresess asking if we had a left a tip for her. so great rooms great location sometimes good food but don,t expect too much and remember to pack a hairdryer.

Why is it that pub hotels (potels??)insist on playing looped music so loudly at breakfast? The only thing I didn't like about this place was having to ask the bewildered waitress to turn the music down - it was absolutely blaring at 8.30 on a Sunday morning. And even then it was still too loud. Who wants to listen to Ozzy Osbourne at that time? A bit of piped Wogan maybe... Other than that The Tennant Arms is a real find, and at three nights for two, a bargain to boot. We ended up here having done a Landrover off-road driving experience nearby. The Tennant Arms is a pub, hotel and restaurant. The 10 rooms have been recently refurbished and are decorated really charmingly. Could have done with bigger bath towels though! A sunken bath with a jacuzzi was a bonus after a hard day's walk. The bar area is cosy, with a roaring fire and plenty of friendly locals to regale the stories of the day. There are several other rooms where people can eat for a more restaurant experience, but on a couple of evenings we ate in the bar. Really decent food at good prices: chicken breast wrapped in pancetta; minted shoulder of lamb; Kilnsey Trout; steaks of all sorts, that kind of thing. We had a couple of bottles of yummy Cote de Beaune Village Maison Louis Latour, which was supposed to be 2004 vintage according to the menu, and cost £20. But it was so amazing we double-checked the (very dusty) bottles and they were vintage 2000. Must have been a (very expensive for them) mistake! Cooked breakfast included. An excellent base to tour the Dales.
