Add the backdrop of one of the best views in Southeast England and a genuinely friendly and helpful staff, then you have the formula for the fine reputation enjoyed by The Beacon near Tunbridge Wells. The house dates from 1895 and was built as the country home of Sir Walter Harris, a former Lieutenant of the City of London. It has a wealth of architectural features including some particularly fine stained glass windows and an oak-panelled bar. In the recent past we have completed a substantial hotel refurbishment which includes two double and one single room all ensuite. All the hotel accommodation has been individually designed to the highest standard. This summer sees the Beacon growing a high proportion of its own fruit, vegetables and herbs in the gardens. The quality of the produce is excellent and is used extensively in all our menus.

Always a good meal there...they have got a lovely setting and a really traditional english pub / restaurant feel. Staff are knowledgable and friendly. Food always been a winner - only grumble is that they've got such small tables that you have to put the bottle of wine on the floor. Worth the bother though!
