I'm Ian Shuttleworth the Owner and Principal Consultant behind The Black Cat Recruitment Company, and before choosing us, you may want to know my story. This timeline will show you how The Black Cat came to be!

How did I get here?
2003 - I started as a Junior Recruitment Consultant for a small, local recruitment firm covering Industrial & Engineering positions throughout the West Midlands.

2004 - Left to work for an Engineering & Construction Division of a large National Agency placing temporary and permanent personnel.

2010 - Completed the Recruitment & Employment Confederation qualification in Recruitment Practice and became a Member of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, earning some fancy letters after my name! (MIRP Cert. RP)

2012 - Head-hunted to help set up and manage the day-to-day operations of a brand-new Recruitment & Training Company, which went on to serve the UK's Construction, Engineering and Telecommunications sectors

2015 - Adopted a black cat from the RSPCA in Birmingham and had the idea to create my own Recruitment Company with the cat as my mascot!

2016 - Moved on to contract for a boutique Consultancy placing Permanent and Interim FM, Property Maintenance and Engineering professionals

2017 - Established The Black Cat Recruitment Company with the sole aim of creating a more personal approach to the recruitment process for both candidates and clients
