You get what you pay for. This place is GREAT, very clean decor is cosy and inviting. food and service is fantastic. I always recommed this place to friends it is located in a beautiful area of bedford. MUST GO!

Nice gastropub but not cheap
This is a really pleasant country pub with welcoming staff and good food. However, it's very definitely gone down the gastropub line so I'm not sure if you can just go in for a drink or if you have to eat also. It's on the expensive side and the portions aren't huge, so don't go expecting a bargain. It's definitely comfortable and relaxed, so if you want a bit more of a special experience than just your average pub, it's definitely one to be recommended. Is it out in the middle of nowhere though, so make sure you get directions first!

The black horse
This is quite simply the best restaurant in bedford and here is my explanation of that bold statement. I entered this restaurant by accident five minutes before it officially opened. When i realised this i tried to apologize. However, the waiter was having none of it. He sat us down and let us order straight away. Further more, he gave us free drinks for choosing the restaurant so wisely. There are many tables and chairs in this restaurant and many customers. The fact that there are so many customers tells me that customer satisfaction is something that the management takes very seriously. The staff here are well informed about the ingrediants in each dish. For example my youngest daughter was at ease when he told us that certain dishes were in fact safe to eat for diabetics.

A super restaurant if you want a special night out. High quality food, experienced and friendly staff and beautiful surroundings as it was revamped last year.This is the place we always go to for a special meal and have never been disappointed yet!
