The Castle by the Sea

Nestled below the ruins of Scarboroughs ancient castle our guest house commands spectacular views of the North Bay, where you can relax in this most tranquil setting.

Janet & John offer a warm welcome to their guests. Since taking over the Guest House, we have now re-opened and commenced an ongoing extensive refurbishment programme, as we want to return this unique building to it's former glory. Our guests comfort and enjoyment are always our priority. The Hotel is in easy walking distance of the North & South Bay. There is an abundance of restaurants in the town, all within a few minutes walk.

Also nearby are Stephen Joseph Theatre and the lively night life. There are 2 golf courses, indoor bowls, Scarborough Cricket Club, Peasholm Park and fishing, both sea and fresh water

Bedrooms

The Castle by the Sea's bedrooms are all ensuite with tea and coffee making facilities with colour TV's. Some of the bedrooms have magnificent views stretching out over the North Bay and on to Ravenscar Cliffs, the highest cliiffs in Yorskshire.



For that special night why not book Champagne and chocolates to be enjoyed in our four poster room. All rooms are ensuite, 1 having a bath.



Sea views are avalable.

The rooms are: 1 single, 2 family, 3 twin and 4 doubles.

We do allow well behaved pets.
Evening meals or bar meals are avalible on request.
We are currently waiting for our bar licence.

Dining

Seperate tables are provided in the unusually spacious dining room where you can partake in the delights of good home cooking prepared using the finest quality produce from around the area for breakfast and evening meal.



If you are looking for somewhere to hold an event the dining room can be hired to celebrate birthdays, weddings or even society meetings, please ring for any enquiries.

The dining room has a superb carved mantle, and has wonderful hand painted tiles in its surround designed by John Atkinson Grimshaw.



Refreshments can be taken in the conservatory or on those splendid sunny days take your refreshments out on the roof top terrace and take in the unparrelled Scarborough sea views.

From our comfortable residents bar lounge you can obtain wonderful views over the North Bay in all its changing moods and enjoy a quiet drink and relax in the company of new friends after a busy day.
