Great Pub, but mind your head
Hard to find a more archetypal English pub. Well kept local ales and good food that is not fussy. Gets a bit crowded but hardly suprising that it is so popular. Well worth booking early and getting a table near the fire. It does seem a little dark inside but you soon get used to that. If the weather is good, there is a useful little garden. Well worth a special trip or detour.
