Restaurant - English in Exeter
18 North Street
Exeter
Devon
EX4 3QS
I have visited this restaurant many times, I live in London and quite often visit Exeter for business, usually once a month. The first time i visited this place i was blown away, far better than any restaurant i've visited in London. Recently ate here with my business partner and both shared the same opinion, this restaurant is definately not as good as it used to be, in fact its not even worth a further visit, maybe others are thinking the same, we ate at 8pm on a Friday night and there were only about 10 others diners joining us. I had a duck breast ( I had this on my last visit and it was the best duck i have ever eaten, with plum sauce - fab!) and i don't know what the sauce was meant to be, frankly inedible, requested v.pink duck and what i received was very much the opposite. Overall, an extremely dissapointing meal, would have been far happier visiting Cafe Rouge or something equally as generic.

The Conservatory can be found on North Street in Exeter. It is a high end restaurant with high end prices. However, they do a deal if you eat before 6pm. The food is truly out of this world and I would highly recommend it. It is true that in life you get what you pay for and it is definitely worth paying a little extra for a meal out and trying the Conservatory. The steak is as good as any I have tasted in France and believe me, I do not say that about many places in Britain. The food is fresh and cooked to perfection with delicious sauces. The staff are very attentive and good-humoured. Excellent food in a comfortable setting.
