Why you should visit The Lounge.

In 2013 the dental legislation progressed to introduce direct access. The Dental Hygiene Lounge supports these changes as it gives patients the control over their own dental treatment. Patients are now able to book appointments directly with a dental hygienist/therapist.

The Dental Hygiene Lounge is a facility that strongly believes in the phrase ‘prevention is better than cure'. Providing a service to help patients maintain a healthy smile.

The concept of prevention is better than cure is fantastic, and has been adopted as a key fundamental motto of The Dental Hygiene Lounge. At The Lounge we aim to provide patients with the basic understanding of oral disease's that may be affecting them, all treatment is patient focused and tailored to the individuals needs. The team at The Lounge are fanatical about teeth, and hope to input this enthusiasm into their patients. Treatments at The Lounge are always coincided with home care routines, thus patients having periodontal/gum treatments will be shown and encouraged how to best maintain the health of their gums.

To this end education is a big part of treatment and we aim to help teach our patients the key principals in maintaining a healthy smile, with patient focused toothbrush, flossing techniques and diet advice tailored to each individual's needs.

Being in the dental environment for many years, working in different dental settings, from hospital to community, NHS and private practices has given me a good opportunity to see what works best. I hope to create The Dental Lounge by drawing on all the positives of my experiences
