In response to the last review, this pub is a pub predominantly full of older people who have drunk here for years. It does have a large contingent of Irish people but so do the whole of Luton's pubs. It is usually full of seasoned drinkers and there is a fair amount of shouting by customers. However most of them are bellyaching over who is next on the pool, and the other thing is the majority of them are old timers would fall over if they sneezed. I personally find it hilariously funny. A good place to watch the match as the landlord is a big football fan. In particular it welcomes Luton fans. If your a stranger come in and you are always guaranteed a conversation with someone. It might as baldy_fatso states involve discussing your families fictional or non-fictional Irish connections. This is a real pub and not a pub for ponces who would rather sip Pimms fruit cup at Hendon Regatta.

A nasty hole of a pub surprisingly located right in the town centre opposite the town hall. Full of violent, drunken Irish men and haggard, old, thread-veined bag ladies. The whole place normally smells nastily of urine. People off the street are unwelcome but this is normally quite clear as soon as you enter. If you stay for a drink you may be required to provide details of any Irish heritage you may have and join the rest of the drinkers in a few rebel songs. It's even worse in the evenings after the pub's drinkers have been drinking all day.
