AMAZING!!!!!!
My Fiance and I found the empress by chance one day.It is by far the nicest pub with the best food I have ever eaten in. My Fiance even proposed to me whilst we were there!! You must try their pies!!!!!!!!

why didn't we find you sooner
after spending a very disappointing fortnight of eating out and about on holiday in the new forest on our last day we found the empress on the edge of the forest towards Southampton. What a delight!! ok we had to wait as it was so busy but we were told about the delay before ordering giving us the oportunity to stay or go. we stayed and it was well worth it. food ,staff,the whole experience . nothing too much trouble. the delay was not as long as we expected as they said on the way out that they tell you the worst it could be and we were out for the night so it really didn.t matter. keep up the good work we will be back.

Great night
Have just booked up for Xmas dinner for 40 + people again as last year was so good. From the first conact regarding the booking, they were very friendly, informative, helpful and accommodating. On the night, despite being incredibly busy, the staff were very friendly and efficient, all courses and all meals were very good and well received by all. Have been a lunch time customer a few times and have always been more than happy with the service and quality of the meals so would recommend to anyone either for a pub lunch, evening meal or organised party.

i have to say we were recommended to the empress and were not disappointed.They were extremely busy and i can see why we were told when we ordered there would be a delay due to the number of orders in the kitchen but the food appeared considering the no. of people in the empress very quickly. and to a high standard. the staff were so friendly and nothing too much trouble. sorry k.w. i dont know where you eat but it couldn.t have been the empress of blandings!!! we have been back serveral times over the past 2 months and never been disappointed. keep up the grand job guys.

great burgers, superb Badgers
Big and airy pub with a modern/old world theme. Loads of oak, rustic tables, Badgers beer, various strengths of Hofbrau (?) along with the usual wines and soft drinks. Great menu and a stunning cheese burger. Highly recommended. Sorry youhad a bad time KW. Give it another try without the Christmas rush, you might change your mind.

VERY POOR NIGHT OUT
Booked a group meal for 8pm on 13th december 2007 we were told that we had 45 minutes to eat our 3 course meal as the kitchen was closing, 6 times in less than half an hour we were told to hurry up before the kitchen closed, as soon as one course was finished the next was served immediately and this continued through the meal including the coffee being served with desert. Also the roast turkey appeared to be like that from iceland as each slice came out perfectly round and pretty tasteless all for 25 pounds a head. Very poor - not recommended if that is standard practice !!!
