About

PhD Researcher

For her MA in television script writing, B.A.G. Cooper-Chambers made a critical evaluation of the underlying factors that cause the portrayal of British Caribbean families on British television to appear so stereotypical. Her PhD research delves into the deep-rooted hindrances that prevent Caribbean families from breaking away from the familiar, though misleading, images shown on our television screens. It explains the phenomenon of ‘fictive kin' and will provide evidence of television solutions that are viable, sustainable, and far-reaching.
