Beware!
Be very careful if you deal with this guy! Double-check everything in the shop before you part with any money. He sold me a fireplace with a mantel that didn't fit and which turned out to have a broken flap/baffle. Also, you're probably safest getting someone else to fit it - at any rate, don't ask him to do any plastering. He left my chimney breast lumpy and unfinished; after nearly 3 weeks' waiting I had to get a proper plasterer in to finish the job and sort out the mess. And I wouldn't lend him your house key either. I spent two weeks trying to get mine back, and he only finally returned it when I threatened him with the police.

BE VERY CAREFUL
Be warned, they have seriously gone downhill recently and have major financial problems. They will promise the earth but are almost impossible to pin down, are unreliable, provide poor service and don't offer value for money. Will never use them again.

Renovation treasure trove
I was looking for an original early Victorian fireplace for my sitting room and I found several at the Little Fireplace Shop that were suitable. The member of staff that served me helped by taking and e mailing me photos of the ones I was interested in so I could take my time in choosing. Excellent service! They were very helpful and the fireplace I choose was at a reasonable price considering the age and the condition. This shop is a bit of a treasure trove for people renovating their home.

Excellent service. Beautiful fireplaces fitted quickly and professionally.
I'm really pleased to have found this newish shop tucked away at the end of Moorland Road. It is full of loads of beautiful old fireplaces and after traipsing around reclamation yards for a good while I found these people to be very reasonably priced. I bought a simple fireplace for my study and a tiled fireplace with a very decent old slate surround. Now they are fitted they look really good. They fitted them about 8 days after I bought them and they didn't make any mess. When they came round they were polite, professional and they did a very good job. I'm spreading the word for them that they are worth a visit if you want a fireplace, and they sell woodburners too. Thanks guys at The Little Fireplace Shop
