The warm atmosphere with professional and highly personal quality of service, provides an unique experience for that special occasion.

The garden, which the brasserie overlooks, subtly merges with the surrounding Common land and is an ideal place to sample one of the traditional English meals from the bar snack menu or to relax and enjoy our peaceful corner of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Alternatively, Club Edgcumbe offers a more intimate dining experience. Its romantic, select surroundings are enhanced by its tranquil views of The Common.

With awe inspiring views and exciting culinary masterpieces the Mount Edgcumbe combines 18th Century grandeur with a dining experience to blow your mind. With a choice of mouth watering starters followed by a wide choice of succulent dishes ..... Can you handle it?

At the Mount Edgcumbe we offer a choice of dining atmospheres.

The lively Brasserie and Bar provide a warm, friendly ambiance with an authentic 8th century candle lit cave, hollowed out from the historic sandstone rock, which provides the hotel with its foundation.

The brasserie menu features a broad range of international and traditional
English specialties with Traditional Roasts available on Sundays.

The quaint bar, crafted out of weather-worn coastal oak offers a selection of varied libations from our collection of Highland malts to our locally brewed ales.

Top class food without the snobbery

We spent an enjoyable evening at the Mount Edgcumbe - the fillet of beef was cooked to perfection - being a meat eater I had it rare, presented with dauphinaie potatoes and spinach I had a choice of either cheese, a pepper or a mushroom sauce - I chose the cheese. The wine list was extensive but we enjoyed a Gran reserva Rioja. The restaurant overlooks the garden and onto the common, so peaceful, the waiting staff were attentive, but there was no snobbery as found at other local restaurants, and we were not hurried so that they could fill our seats again.Thank you Mount Edgcumbe. We will be back.

Tranquil Dining On the Common

We frequent the Mount Edgcumbe at least once a week as it offers a choice of dining atmospheres. They have a lively Restaurant and Bar provide a warm, friendly ambiance from the new Owners (Summer 2007 I think), in the bar area there os an 8th century candle lit cave, hollowed out from the sandstone rock. The menu features a broad range of international and traditional English specialties with even Roasts available on Sundays, Sunday Nights for fun Fajita's are offered but with No smoking on a Sunday night - what fun! My partner loved the Thai style Moules & I had the delicious Avocado Monzarrello Salad to start with on our last visit, and both of us were served at the Table with a Massive Chateaubriand Steak as a main course, I could not manage the Sticky Toffee pudding, but dipped into my partners when it arrived. We cannot find any fault - can't wait to sit out in the Garden in the summer though.
