Testimonials

Stayed here with 7 others during the Four Peaks Challenge for FOCUS Ireland. Mairead runs the lodge like her livelihood depended on it even though she's a volunteer. Nothing was too much trouble for her including checking us in in the middle of the night. The rooms were clean and comfortable the breakfast was superb (try the soda farls) and the rates very reasonable. Will definitely be staying here again the next time i go hiking in the Mourne Mountains

Myself and one other other friend stayed in the Mourne Lodge for just 1 night this summer while off mountain biking in nearby Rostrevor. I have stayed in quite a few hostels and guesthouses in the last 12 months and I can easily commit to say this has been one of the nicest. When we arrived our host gave us a comprehensive tour of the building that includes - a conference room, a huge common area with a 50 inch flatscreen and a kitchen ( if you prefer to cook yourself ), bike wash and storage, free internet, washing facilities, a small library and a large restaurant which seemed very reasonably priced. Our twin room was beautifully decorated with a flatscreen tv and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower. We were constantly looked after and made feel incredibly welcome here for our short stay. This place is an absolute steal for anyone looking for a nice hiking, mountain biking or just a relaxing stay in the picturesque Mourne Mountains and is just a few miles drive from the town of Rostrevor and Kilkeel where larger shops and other attractions can be found. 10/10
