About Us

The Old Barn is part of an old farm steading which has been beautifully restored and rebuilt using the original whin stone. It has the traditional slated roof and has been completed to high standard internally with hardwood oak fittings.

This delightful cottage has everything you could possibly ask for in a self catering holiday home. The two en-suite bedrooms - one double and one twin - have good sized built in mirror sliding wardrobes and are situated on the first floor of the property. On the ground floor, the kitchen has been finished with lovely oak units and is complete with built in dishwasher, fridge, freezer and electric oven and hob.

The spacious sitting room is decorated in lovely neutral colours and the large south facing bay window provides panoramic views over the countryside and Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh. It is fully furnished with a comfortable leather six - piece suite, one of these transforms to a sofa bed for up to two extra guests, widescreen digital television and electric fire. There is also a bathroom downstairs with an energizing power shower.
The house has full double glazing and oil central heating throughout and there is private parking and a garden area. As the owners live nearby there should always be someone on hand to help with any requests.

Cost and availability
The cottage is rented out year round.

Rental periods are from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival after 4pm, unless by special request. Leave by 10am. Short breaks are available with a minimum stay of three nights.

The Local Area

Located in the small village of Arncroach outside Pittenweem the Old Barn is only a short drive to St Andrews and the East Neuk villages. Visitors can explore some of the best coastal walks in Scotland with beautiful scenery or for a more relaxed visit wander round the old fishing harbours, down the cobbled lanes and pay a visit into the choice of seafood restaurants, cosy pubs or even ice cream parlours along the way.

The Old Barn holiday cottage near St Andrews is a 4 star self catering holiday accommodation set in a spectacular rural location within the East Neuk of Fife Scotland, with breath-taking views across the Firth of Forth towards North Berwick and Edinburgh. This location provides the ideal environment to allow you to relax and unwind with the benefit of being situated within a short drive of many of the top tourist attractions and facilities in Fife.

The small villages along the East Neuk coastline host a wealth of treasures, from sandy beaches to rocky fish pools, arts and crafts to fashions and some wonderful whitewashed buildings and wynds to wander round. Closeby there are are a huge range of outdoor activities to choose from - over 40 golf courses including the famous Old Course, excellent cycleways throughout the kingdom and the Fife Coastal Path for walkers taking you along some of the best coastal paths in Scotland. The sailing trips to the Isle of May are a unique opportunity to visit a bird sanctuary and being so close to St Andrews means you can enjoy the historic delights of the Cathedral, castle and of course the many independent shops and cafes in the town. By this stage you will have built up an appetite! You can then choose from a wide variety of superb places to eat from acclaimed restaurants to cafes and bars all within a short drive with many set either in the local countryside or around the coastal villages.
