I've been to the Relaxation Den a number of times, however over the past few months I've noticed a big decline in the service and quality. Firstly, I had booked a Groupon deal for a facial and massage. Having had some difficulty booking this deal with the salon I was then left a voicemail message hours before my treatment saying that the salon could no longer accommodate my appointment as one of their beauticians had left. On ringing them back I imagined that I would be invited to rebook my appointment with another beautician, however the salon simply informed me that they were no longer willing to honour the Groupon deal. I ended up having to contact Groupon for a refund. Underworld by this one bad experience I decided to keep the booking I had for my gel nails today. However, yet again I seemed to have been treated to a rather poor and unprofessional service. Having shown my upstairs the beautician proceeded to rush around whilst she set up the treatment area - this hadn't been done beforehand. As my beautician went through my treatment she noticed she had missed some pieces of equipment and proceeded to repeatedly wander off to find them leaving me sat in the chair waiting. The beautician kept losing track if which hand she had done what to and this resulted in her nearly forgetting to put he top coat on one of my hands. To top the whole thing off the relaxing atmosphere was ruined by another stylist having her 2 year old son at work with her. The young boy spent the entire time of my treatment jiggling the door handle next to where I was having my treatment and making rather a lot of noise. Not relaxing at all! Overall, my nails looked ok but the service and professionalism of the salon have become extremely poor.

I went to the relaxation den after finding a deal on gum tree - £19 for a full set of acrylics. I asked for almond shaped nails ... What I got were viciously pointed, uneven spikes. While she was filing, she made my fingers bleed. I felt bad saying I didn't like them and didn't have time to wait for another set. I had to pull them off the next as I couldn't face the embarrassment, ruining my own nails. I rang up and explained what had happened and they kindly agreed to do me a fresh set - but with the same girl. This time, the nails were more of an acceptable shape, but they were very very short, which I didn't ask for, all different shapes, very bumpy with lots of bulges, and she didn't remove or even push down my cuticles. I couldn't have complained again so I just left. I will probably have to go to another salon and pay more for the quality I should have received in the first place
