The Valet is a traditional Barber and shaving shop of distinction with a contemporary twist. Located in Addiscombe near Croydon in South London, the Valet provides services for all aspects of male grooming and also retails a large selection of shaving equipment, shaving accessories, fragrances and toiletries in store and online. Amongst the well known brands we stock in our shop, you will find; Dovo, Timor, Merkur, Taylors of Bond Street, Proraso and 4711, to name but a few. We offer old school barbering and contemporary hair cutting techniques for the present day man. We have developed a shave formula that is very hard to equal – one that includes a methodical process to guarantee a sensitive and irritation free, close shave. All our Barbers carry over 25 years experience and are fully qualified shaving technicians. Our shaves are what we are most famous for! Our hair salon is climate controlled and has been designed in a traditional style but with a contemporary twist. Equipped with a cold beer fridge, a large plasma screen, and personal LCD screens at every Barber station, we guarantee you won’t miss out on any action whilst you’re in the chair. You can relax with a beverage of your choice as we provide customers with a complementary Cappuccino, Latte or Americano coffee with all treatments, or a cold bottle of beer or a glass of wine with all Signature treatments.

Feel like a king
This was my first visit to 'Valet', and my first ever hot towel shave. This was something I had always wanted to experience. So as an indulgence I opted for the 'Californian signature' treatment, and oh boy what a great experience it was. With a haircut. hot towel shave and facial, I was given an exquisite amount of pampering with at the hands of a highly skilled barber at the top of their game. By the time I walked out I looked and felt great, I really did feel like I had been treated like a king. once you visit you will not want to go anywhere else.

The Rolls Royce of treatments
I have now been to the Valet for 3 to 4 years, and the experience has been perfect - and I wouldn't even dream of going anywhere else now! With my last few haircuts, Mags has been so professional as a master stylist, yet she is also friendly and knows just what to say to the customer. There is absolutely no 'conveyer belt' stuff like with some previous hair salons, but we always get treated like an individual with seemingly no rush at all. Have been offered tea or coffee and have event had a cool beer there. Have had a fantastic full-body massage too. Cannot recommend the place highly enough! :-)

Simply the best!
Was on the net looking for somewhere local to have a nice pampering massage after googling I found the valet, thought I would treat myself my son and my other half as it was close to my b-day. Spoke and arranged appointments for that weekend and was looking forward to going there as its been a long time since I've had a massage. When we pulled up along side the shop I was impressed by the exterior and how good it looked outside, once inside I couldn't believe how welcoming and inviting the place was, the warmth and enthusiasm from the staff was on a very personal level. I've been in very different hairdressers and plenty of beauty salons and never felt as welcomed as I have here! The therapist Amanda came and introduced herself and spoke about the treatment and I felt so relaxed its surreal, I've never had such an experience like this, Amanda has healing magical hands, I had the therapeutical massage for an hour, after I felt rejuvenated and so relaxed its untrue. I would just like to say thank you David and staff for a top notch afternoon, even my 4 year old daughter who was there for 3 hours was entertained and relaxed, which is a miracle! There's nothing the valet need to improve on its perfect! Don't hesitate people go there its well worth a visit cause you will be back! ;)

Superb place
As soon as you enter The Valet it is not just about going for a haircut, it is like joining a room with friends and having an unforgettable experience. With both Mags and Helen, I no longer need to specify how I need my hair doing - as they just cut to perfection and so professionally. Would unhesitatingly recommend the high class Barbers to anyone. Great Barbers, Great Gents Treatments
The Valet have now added treatment rooms where massages, pedicures and waxing and other fancy stuff take place. Went there today for a treatment I've had on many occasions before in London centres, not really knowing what to expect. Well it was absolutely great, felt really well looked after and the care and professionalism was the best I've known. Plus it was cheaper and more local, so simply superb! Steve

Treat Yourself
Been going to 'The Valet' now for a couple of months, it's always a terrific experience, nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff. George always takes so much care and attention; definitely tops the list for best hair cut and shaves in the London area let alone the Croydon area!! If you have never tried a hot towel shave before then you are in for a treat! an experience I would recommend to all men.

Converted
I had always talked about having a hot towel shave, but never got around to it. As a surprise my wife purchased The Valet Deluxe Signature for a Valentine's Present. I didn't know what to expect. I was greeted by the owner who explained the whole treatment. I was then placed in the very capable hands of George. I had never been taught the correct way to shave, but after George cut my hair he explained the art of shaving. I had been doing it wrong for the last x number of years! I was in the chair for an hour and a half being pampered. What a wonderful experience. I'm converted. George will be seeing me in the near future.

superb
I have been and I am a convert to the cult of grooming. I went just under a month ago and was welcomed as soon as I cam though the door. I was treated to the banter and the friendship that only comes from people who are experts at what they do. I was lead to a chair and included in the chat and got treated to the world according to George and the staff (so sorry I cant remember the receptionist name but I wish her all the luck getting to a dance club in Mexico)

Never too old to change
So here we are! I'm in my 50s and have just had my first "signature" cut at The Valet in Addiscombe. It was a great experience. The haircut was done painstakingly carried out, followed by a wet shave and hot towel facial. All through, I waas kept informed of what they were doing and why. To a "Neanderthal" like me it was hugely enjoyable and worth every penny. I'll definitely go again

A great way to finish the day
Stressful day at work? Long day at the office? Feeling tired and needing a freshen up? If so then try having the Valet Signature treatment (a hair wash and cut followed by a hot towel shave). Too many times I have gone into a barbers and it has been like a conveyabelt of customers. You only sit down for 5 minutes before you are moved on. The Valet is completely different. I arrived after work and was immediately offered a drink ranging from an ice cold beer to a coffee. Already the service seemed personable. I then met my barber George who asked me how I would like my hair to be cut/styled etc followed by a description of what the Valet Signature treatment entailed. There was no rush (was there for around an hour) and it was great just to relax and talk like you were chatting to a mate. The treatment itself was fantastic. The hot towel shave certainly left me feeling invigorated and refreshed, which was very much appreciated after a long day at work. My hair was cut to perfection and I left feeling very happy and money certainly well spent. If you want to have a quality, personable service, then pop along to the Valet in Addiscombe. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Awesome
At last a place where a man can be pampered and relax. I have now had the signature treatment with George four times and each time it is nothing but a pleasure. The quality of the hair cuts and shaves is fantastic and the effect on my skin from the shaving advice I have been given is very noticable. I always arrange my cuts after a heavy time at work as its a great way to unwind. I would recommend The Valet to anyone! Pete

How it should always be
I've been twice so far: 1st time I had my hair cut by Ibrahim, 2nd time by Margaret. Ibrahim was especially attentive from the moment I arrived (greeting me, hanging my jacket and offering me a drink). He was very friendly and focused on me and my experience throughout my time there which was refreshing when some barbers give the impression that you are just another head of hair passing along a conveyor belt. They were both really friendly and happy to explain anything you might ask about the way they cut the hair or the interesting grooming products on sale. Good experience with both and really pleased with the haircuts. I'm a student so although I'm very tempted I haven't tried anything other than the classic cut from their 'Menu', but it and everything else offers considerable value for money taking into account the excellent customer orientated service. I'll be going back again and am pleased to have finally found somewhere decent close to home. Richard.

Stunning!
Everything about The Valet just oozes class and sophistication. Its the West End on my doorstep without the prices. I had the signature deluxe given to me as a gift and will absolutely be returning. Best haircut I've ever had and the hot towek shave was relaxation personified. All local (and localish!) men should get on board.irst class and i can't recomend them enough!

To Shave Or Not To Shave
I have been a customer at The Valet for just over a year now. Yesterday I had had my first ever hot towel shave after my haircut. Let me tell you it was great! I walked out of there feeling totally relaxed and now wonder why I had never had this done before. What an experience. I am always looked after as though I am a VIP (just as I see every customer being treated). It is an experience I would recommend to all men. It has become my sanctuary and once a month I am able to take a little time out for myself and walk out feeling great. If you've never been to The Valet you must try it!

THE BEST HOT TOWEL SHAVE EVER
I discovered this little Jewel in the Crown a few months back after moving into the area. I have had a few Hot Towels in Turkey and in some of the top end Barbers in central London, but cannot compare any of them to this place for value, attention to detail and customer service. The whole shop is amazing, they really did think long and hard about what we guys really do like in a Barber shop. The decor is masculine but classy at the same time; there is a beer fridge as well as individual personal screens at each barber point so you don't miss out on current affairs. But as I say the shave was the best I have ever had anywhere. This shop well deserves to be in the West End it really would be well suited. I have now used Barber George and Hadi and they are both very very good, you want be disappointed. Ask for the Deluxe Hot Towel it is bliss! Monkey

Hi Guys, I can honestly say that I have seldom experienced such high levels of customer services and personal attention in any establishment. If all businesses in London operated with the same customer focus, the world would be a better place. Your computerised systems enable you to know what I, the client have previously enjoyed, such a simple thing as being addressed by name goes a long way both on the phone and in person, and the complimentary coffee/beer on entry is a simply delightful and welcome touch. You make your customers feel like ‘part of the family’, and in a way, we are. I have had cuts by all of your barbers now, all of which have been of the very highest standard. I was also treated by a friend to the Valet top-end cut and shave treatment, which was an hour and a half of pure indulgence, whilst also being educational in all things shaving related. I know you are always open for comments on ways to improve, but in all honesty, I can’t think of any. Good work, keep it up, and I wish you all continued success and expansion. See you again soon.
