I first met Mr Stocker, when my son (who has aspergers) was being bullied at school and he wanted to learn martial-arts to feel more confident should he be physically confronted again. When we started with Mr Stocker he asked us why we wanted to train in martial arts, and assured us that we would get everything we want from his class and more. He was absolutely right! My son’s confidence increased session on session, as did my levels of fitness. Plus it helped us grow closer together as we had one common goal, to learn as much as we could and we get to “play fight” for real on the mats. We both liked the varied styles taught by Mr Stocker (although we both have different favourites). My daughter came to watch a couple of classes, and decided she wanted to enrol into Mr Stocker’s kids classes. 2 years on we are still taking martial arts classes. The thing that set Mr Stocker apart in terms of just being an instructor was that he took an interest in his students. He would ask my son and daughter how they were doing at school. He gave my son advice when he was going through a stage where he couldn’t stay out of trouble at school. He became a mentor more than just an instructor. The kids and I miss him as an instructor, but we are grateful we got to learn from him, and wish him and all his students at Tiger Martial Arts all the best, as you have one of the good guys as your instructor.

Our son started Mixed Martial Arts with Master Stocker after he turned 5. Our son is a very energetic boy and we needed to channel his energy in a positive way. Two years on and our son has greatly benefited. He is more focused at school and disciplined at home as a result. We found Master Stocker’s teaching style very child-focused and he was able to tune into our son’s strengths and abilities which has also made him more confident. Master Stocker’s teaching also reinforced our values of respect and determination. Our son loves going to his MMA training and to him Master Stocker is the real Bruce Lee. It was a privilege for our son to be taught by him. We would recommend Master Stocker’s classes to anyone, you will learn a great art, have some life lessons and fun at the same time.
