Contemporary wedding photography and portrait photography in Nottinghamshire by Toby Neal Toby Neal Photography is a bespoke photography business, specialising in beautiful and contemporary wedding photography, lifestyle portrait photography, promotional, PR and commercial photography. Contemporary wedding photography done my way ranges from traditional style to reportage style. I am able to cover most aspects of your special day from service to reception and everything else between. The same sort of attention is also true with portrait photography. I like working with people and am able to work with individuals, families and larger groups with ease. A professionally qualified photographer, based in Nottingham, England, I am in an excellent location to travel and take on photography jobs anywhere in the East Midlands and the UK. I am also a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photography. When deciding on your photographer you often want to know something about them, what sort of person they, their style and practice, and what they want to achieve.

I am a professionally qualified photographer, holding a BA (hons) in Photography and an HND in Photography and Digital Imaging/ in addition I have achieved Certificates in Professional Development in Photoshop for Web and Graphic Design and Dreamweaver & Web Standards and a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers.
I confess that I have a weakness for cameras, computers and photographic equipment and practice. Because of my background in the music industry I came to photography through the digital route and have been using digital cameras and the digital darkroom for many years. But even though it may be back to front, I have developed a particular fondness for Medium Format and Large Format film cameras, developing my own films and printing in the darkroom and will use them whenever there is an opportunity to. Unfortunately those opportunities becoming less and less in the professional world, as many clients require the quick turn around and editing that is provided by digital.
My practical skills have been developed through commissions and projects in many places, with different people and working with, and alongside some very able photographers.

Great wedding photogpraphy
Toby photographed our wedding coming up to a year ago now(September 2011). I know how stressful weddings can be and I also know how valuable reviews can be in making a decision, hence writing here. From start to finish, he did a brilliant job. We saw a couple of wedding photographers before Toby and they were very pushy with trying to sell add-ons and extras to bump up the price. Toby couldn't have been less like this- everything was fair and consistent. He did a free engagement shoot before the wedding so he could meet us and we could see some of the images. He gave us a disc with hi-res, print quality pictures from this and never once pressured us to buy prints or anything. My husband is uncomfortable being photographed but Toby really relaxed him and got the best out of him, which we both appreciated. He came to a wedding rehearsal (again, no charge) so he could figure out in advance the best shots and angles. Not many wedding photographers will give you a disc with print-quality images on it, because they want to charge you for the prints, but Toby does which was a massive selling point as we have a few relatives that live far away and I wanted them to be able to print their own pictures where they were. On the day, Toby was a friendly face but he was also unobtrusive. In the end, the images he took were stunning- I was so thrilled. They were a proper mix of styles too- some informal, spontaneous moments, and some more posed, formal portraits, colour, black and white, a huge variety of moods, angles and styles. It was the best photography I could have wished to see and I treasure the images he took. He did an amazing job, is a lovely person and also his prices are brilliant, especially considering the artistry and care that goes into his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Portrait & Event Photography
Toby has photographed a number of events and people for me over the past 18 months and his work has always been of the highest standard. He works well with people and knows how to get the best out of them, even when they are nervous or don't want their photos taken. He always puts more effort and work into achieving the jobs objectives than I expect and cannot recommend him highly enough.

My daughter's Wedding Photography
Toby did a wonderful job of photographing my daughter's wedding. On the day he was unobtrusive, controlled and diligent in his work, but when I saw the photographs he captured, there were beautiful images of the days events and he always seemed to be in the right place. I was most impressed with the photographs of the couple and I am so happy with the Parents Album that he supplied to us.

Excellent service and high quality images
I have used Toby to produce images for a number of projects over the past 12 months. He completed the work quickly and efficiently and in line with the project demands, and his customer service was excellent. I would recommend Toby to anyone.

New Bead Business Photography
I was looking for a photographer to do promotional photographs for my new shop, advertising and online catalogue. I discussed my needs with Toby and he suggested a number of approaches he could take. Once commisioned, the work was completed to the agreed timetable and to the agreed budget. Communication was excellent and I was very pleased with the product. I would recommend Toby without hesitation.

Portraiture
I wanted some "character type" shots for my own use. I met Toby and was impressed by the way he listened to me and what I said I thought I wanted. He then combined this with his professional skill and experience as a photographer to produce shots far beyond that which I expected but just what I hoped for. He is really enthusiastic about what he does and makes it all seem so easy....no stress, great fun and fantastic value for money. Thanks Toby.
