We provide the construction industry with a wide range of training courses from our midlands based centres as well as offering Nationwide Training through a network of training centres. We are a Construction Skills approved NVQ Centre, a CITB approved CPCS Test Centre and a SQA approved New Roads and Streetworks Centre.

Total Training can deliver CPCS training throughout the UK utilising a network of 25 test centres. We offer quality training in many categories; CPCS Dumper, CPCS Slinger, CPCS Excavator, CPCS Roller and CPCS Telescopic Handler are some of the many categories we deliver CPCS training and testing for.

Looking for a NVQ? – As a Construction Skills approved NVQ centre we deliver all of the Plant Operations NVQ's.

From our Olton Centre in Birmingham/Solihull we offer classroom training in Health and Safety - including manual handling, asbestos awareness, abrasive wheels, working at height and many others. We also provide HSE approved First Aid Courses and Fire Marshall Courses.

Our purpose built Confined Spaces area in Olton allows for training in Confined Spaces Awareness for supervisors and Confined Spaces with Entry and Full Breathing Apparatus for operatives.

We also offer Management Training for the construction industry including SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) and SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme). These CITB courses are the most recognisable awards for showing competence in supervising and managing site health and safety. We also offer the IOSH Managing Safely in Construction (4 Day) Course, a highly recognisable course in effective and competent compliance with Management Safety in Construction.

Streetworks – We offer all of the Streetworks Assessment and Re-assessment Awards for both Supervisor and Operatives - call us for details.

CPCS Instructors

Due to our continuing success we are looking for qualified CPCS Instructors both full and part-time to meet the increasing demands of our business.

We are based in the West Midlands area with our CPCS Test Centre located next to the NEC.

Welcome

Plant Training

Requests for all plant training welcomed. Our CITB approved plant trainers provide all training to CPCS standard - the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is a card scheme designed to prove the skills of plant operators.

As a CITB approved CPCS Test Centre we offer a novice course for those with little or no experience at our specialised CPCS test centre in Bickenhill. On the last day of this course the Technical Tests - Practical & Theory - are undertaken and upon successful completion you will be awarded with a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card. We can provide just the training if required.

We also offer just the Tests for experienced workers, again undertaken at our CPCS test centre in Bickenhill.

Requirements for Test - A valid Health & Safety Touchscreen Test (within last 2 years) which can be taken with us & relevant practical experience (or undertaken Novice Course) and theory knowledge (Revision Material handed out at booking).

After receiving your CPCS Red Card you will then have 2 years to complete a level 2 NVQ after which you'll be issued with a CPCS Blue Competent Operators Card. We also offer the NVQ and can possibly provide funding.
