Terrible!
I'd give it no stars if I could!! I cut my hair there, about a month and a half ago. I had really long natural hair and wanted to get a pixie cut. I had photos of what I wanted -as I used to rock a pixie cut back in the day-, still it made no diference! They cut my pony tail and this girl who worked there came and took it saying she is going to make hair extensions with it!!! She didn't even ask me if that's ok with me! Then I got the most horrendous hair cut I 've ever had in my entire life!! They made me look like woody the woodcracker! The haircut was literally terrible, it looked like nothing I asked them to do and I even had bold patches on the back of my head!! Then, the girl who stole my hair, tried to dry them, making them look even more horrendous!! She went to the other side of the room for a bit and I heard the main hairdresser telling her: "That's not how you cut hair! This is terrible! You cut too much". Then after five minutes the same hairdresser who said all this, came up to me and said: "I love your hair! It suits you so well! They're just great!". Like all this wasn't enough, they charged me £26 and said that normally they charge £38 but I would only pay £26 because I hadn't booked an appointment?? NEVER AGAIN! Every single person I know told me I should have asked for my money back, the moment they saw my new hair! I am still recovering from this as I had to cut my hair 2 more times to fix this but my hair still looks bad!

Superb
I go to the Woolston branch and Amy cuts my hair. Friendly and very professional, I always come away with the look I've asked for. My son and Husband also have their hair cut there with the same excellent results.

Horrendous hair cut
Unfortunately I have had a similar experience to the other contributer to this site. I went to Trevor Mitchell for its reputation to have a trim. My hair was in very good condition and very long - how I like it. I asked for a trim and stressed that I am growing my hair so wanted the minimum off. The hairdresser lopped 8 inches off the front section, cutting it in a squared off block. It looks dreadful and I can't style it. I went in to the salon with long waves and have come out with an enforced shorter cut that doesn't suit my face shape. I am very upset, particularly given that it will take 1-2 years for my hair to grow back to its previous length. The stylist tried to correct what she had done by taking a razor to my hair to attempt to even it out (an impossible task given the difference in length) and by doing that has made my thick hair wispy. I have had a pretty shocked reaction from friends and family. When I went to complain, I found the manager at the Southampton central branch to be dismissive. I have been promised a call back but 24 hours later am still waiting. I have my hair cut every couple of months and have been to numerous (and cheaper) salons and have never experienced anything like it. would never go there again. I would add that (unlike the previous reviewer) I had a senior stylist.

Ruined hair.
I went to Trevor Mitchell because of it's reputation, and due to the fact I have an important occasion coming up, I wanted my hair to look good and professional. Instead, I feel the hairdresser I had who was virtually a teenager, got bored halfway through colouring my hair which left me with an extremely uneven colour. I went back 3 days later to get it corrected, and they were happy to do so. I got the same hairdresser, and now it's even worse. One part is practically white, and the hair is more uneven than ever. For £86, my hair has been destroyed. It is now in terrible condition, and I just won't go back there for help since their idea of a 'correction' was to make my hair look even worse. I have an important job interview this week, I can only hope I can get it to look mildly presentable for it. I am extremely upset over this whole experience, my first ever hair colouring at a salon. I will definitely not go back there and I'd advise anyone wanted to get their hair cut there: DON'T. Or at least, ask for someone who isn't a child, ask for someone with experience. This business should supervise clearly under-qualified girls if they are going to charge such a ridiculously high fee for ruining the way someone looks.
