Tyme Restaurant is set within a beautiful Country House Hotel that lies in 44 acres of landscaped
gardens and rolling North Devon countryside. We are located within minutes of secluded coves and many fine sandy beaches such as Woolacombe, Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton.
Close by is Exmoor, the North Devon Coastal Path and the Tarka Cycle Trail.


We serve quality cuisine that is fresh, seasonal and
local and are open to non-residents for evening
meals, Sunday and week-day lunches, coffee and cream teas. We are able to cater for larger functions, including weddings and private parties so whether
you want a formal a la carte meal in our Restaurant
or a marquee in our landscaped gardens, we can
design an event tailored to suit you.


We have a Patrons' Club with special offers for regular customers and other initiatives so please do make sure you register your details with us (email preferred if you have one). We appreciate that for our success we have to make sure that we keep you happy but then, that is our objective!

We welcome family groups including those with children and encourage you to mention them when booking your table so that we can make sure an appropriate menu is available. Please do let us know if you have any specific requirements to allow us to prepare something specially for you, which is always a pleasure.

Walks From Trimstone

From Trimstone Manor it is possible to take some short walks along the very quiet narrow country lanes but please do be aware that occasionally they are used by farm machinery.

If you turn right when leaving the grounds of the Hotel and follow the lane up to the A361, cross over the main road and continue along the country lane opposite, this will lead you into the village of West Down
approximately 2 miles away.

Alternatively, if when you leave the Hotel grounds you turn left, this very narrow road leads to the T junction emerging close to Willingcott Golf Course. Just Left, around the corner and then on the right, you can gain access to The Tarka Trail. At this end it runs mainly over country lanes and is designated as a cycle route until it reaches Braunton going left but from the car park, it is possible to gain access to the old railway track which leads down towards Ilfracombe. This is a nice sheltered spot for a walk but please bear in mind that it can be a long way back from Ilfracombe, although the main bus route is quite dependable!

Just opposite the entrance into Trimstone there is a small, often muddy lane which runs up between fields, emerging onto Dennis' Lane. From this point the road left goes up past some cottages onto the main road from Mullacott Cross to Woolacombe. In the opposite direction it comes down past Twitchen Farm onto the A361. By turning right at this point you can follow the main road downwards and you will soon see our sign on the main road pointing down towards Trimstone. That said, it is safest to turn back because it is a very busy road and without pavements. Indeed, unless you have your wellies with you or the weather has been dry for a considerable time this lane is best avoided!

Trimstone Manor Hotel

Trimstone Manor is a beautiful Country House Hotel in North Devon set within 44 acres of
landscaped gardens and rolling countryside. We are located within minutes of secluded coves and many fine sandy beaches such as Woolacombe, Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton whilst having the convenience of being just 300 yards from the A361. Close by is Exmoor, the North Devon Coastal Path and the Tarka Cycle Trail.

The property, with origins in the Domesday book and parts dating back 400 years, was tastefully converted to a hotel in 1976, whilst still retaining many of the original features including a static
water wheel and mill house.

We are in a beautiful setting in North Devon; so rural yet so accessible. The tranquil setting makes us ideal for a relaxing break or as the Family holiday base. We provide the perfect venue for parties, functions and weddings. We are licensed to host marriage ceremonies and our grounds are licensed for entertainment if you want to erect a marquee or two!

In addition to our Lounge Bar and Tyme Restaurant, the Hotel boasts wonderful facilities including en-suite bedrooms and suites, self-catering cottages and gardens where you can relax with a glass of wine. This, coupled with an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, fitness room and games room for residents means that we have everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay.

The Hotel incorporates thirteen en-suite bedrooms and three family suites, most of which have views of stunning North Devon countryside.

Hotel guests have full use of the Hotel's leisure facilities and standard prices are on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Hotel guests enjoy special rates for evening meals if they book before arrival.

Self-Catering Cottages

Next to the Hotel are several self-catering cottages which were converted from barns and the Old Mill. Each cottage is fully furnished to a good standard and offers a variety of sleeping arrangements to suit most needs (each cottage sleeping up to nine people).

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Guests staying in the cottages are most welcome to use the Hotel Bar and Tyme Restaurant and enjoy special rates for breakfast and evening meals.
