Very disapointing experience!!!
I was in the shop today with my daughter, there was only one other lady customer so not at all busy, I was waiting to ask a question in clear view but was totally ignored, managed to grab one of the other staff milling about who was very sharp and had no interest in what i needed, I did spend my money there (reluctantly) as we had traveled to get there needless to say we will not be going back neither will i be recommending to any of my friends, unhelpful rude staff.....Customer Service course would be a good investment for these people!!! Plus I very nearly fell down the stairs after tripping on the little step at the top of the stairs be very careful ladies ...Health and Safety need to pay them a visit!!! NO Stars but have to put 1 otherwise this wont be accepted!!!

Amazing staff!
As I wanted an eggless wedding cake, I didn't originally go to Twins and chose a woman we found in the local paper. She was supposed to make a cake consisting of three suitcases, a cat, and the groom and I. Plus she had been told that the wedding colour theme was dark plum. What we received was a complete mess! The bride and groom seriously looked like a nursery child has made them out of plasticine, the groom had the wrong colour eyes and a scarred face, the cat was just a blob and it was covered in disgusting orange flowers! Anyway, my mum took it to Twins in absolute tears and they say her down whilst they rescued this pathetic excuse for a cake! It looked absolutely amazing by the time they'd finished and they only charged for the accessories, nothing at all for their time! So, if I ever needed another cake, I would definitely go straight there without hesitation!

Fantastico
I used twins when I made my first Paid for wedding cake. Didn't have much of a clue. I was advised then by the to owners and their respective daughters. I have the beautiful picture to prove it. Proper advise was always given even in buying the appropriate books which would help me through my fledging stage. Oh I was rebuked by a member of staff for picking up an iced cake topper. It was a prepared food item she was following company rules and although I felt sheepish I soon adopted that policy when anyone tried to touch my preparations. Just called up for some advice which was given respectfully, although the shop had 1 minute left to closing. (Thurs 12.59)

i go to this shop because it's the only one of it's kind with everything you could ever need for your cakes. My problem is the very rude staff that work there. They have no manners & seem to have great difficulty even speaking to us customers.

Wonderful shop
Was very hesitant about using after negative reviews however, I found staff very helpful Kelli most of all, and the stock in the shop left nothing to chance, will certainly be returning

I dread going there
This is the ideal shop for most of your cake requirements, although don't expect any level of customer service. There is one lady there, I think the daughter of one of the owners, who is so unhelpful, I dread going in there now as she always seems to be there when I am there. She is bad and the others follow closely behind! I have started to use another shop in Barking, more choice and nicer people! How can it be improved? Get rid of the rude girl and go on some customer service training courses!

Dated Shop which needs Customer Service
Just like other reviews the customer service/staff is really awful. I find the staff unhelpful and rude which in today's world where customer service is key, is unacceptable. I really only use it if I need items urgently and dread going in when I do. The layout of the shop also needs to be worked on and is very disorganised and dated. It also annoys me that they close their shop on a Thursday afternoon and do not operate a more flexible opening time which I'm sure will generate more income. If I had the finance I would love to give them a run for their money (and am really surprised no one hasn't) as they really need to be kicked into the modern world. I think the fact that they know they're the only cake shop in town has made them very complacent.

Twins, great shop, rubbish staff
Great shop, they had everything I needed. The problem was I was £2 short for a cash deposit required on the hire charge for the tins. They would rather see me walk out than allow £2 to be paid on my card with the rest of my purchases. They were in a mad hurry to close, so I walked away with nothing. Very poor show, and awful customer service,

Great Stock, Nice Ppl!
I have to be honest, but before I went to Twins I was really dreading the experience that I would probably have. And although I make every effort now to be optimistic (good influence from the hubby lol!!), I just kept thinking that I would leave the store feeling really frustrated due to the reviews left on here. And I must say... Their stock is fantastic, great prices, and the other thing that may come as a shock to you all is... THE STAFF WERE LOVELY!!! They were really polite and really helpful! They were extremely busy with lots of customers and a delivery had just arrived (today is Wednesday and I went in at about 5pm) ... with 15 HUGE boxes but they still attended to our needs if we required their assistance! The only thing that made it not a completely satisfying trip was that they dont stock 11" cake boxes and most of their tins that they sell are for rental purposes only. Unless I failed to spot them (which is usually the case lol!!) But anyway, Don't despair, lovely little shop with lovely people! The worst thing for me is that i live 5 minutes walk away from this shop, I think i might just end up bankrupt!! eeek!

Poor service
I have used Twins came shop for over thirty years when they were in Collier Row. The two sisters who ran the shop were extremely helpful, knowledgable and gave excellent advice. When you go into the shop today you are followed around feels like you are being watched in case of shoplifting. Advice is nonexistent and no help whatsoever is administered. I now use the cake shop in Elm Park they are helpful but need more staff. I also buy more online as well Come on Twins, you are losing a lot of custom!!!!

Sad Times
It's been about 10 years (or more) since I last went to this shop. What a difference! The last time I was there it was run by sisters who took pride in the shop and their customers and could not do enough to help and advise. But they were not in the shop this time. Instead it looked like the next generation children/grandchildren. There was a very strange atmosphere in the shop. At first I thought they were in mourning for someone who had died. I have been there twice now in the last couple of weeks. They didn't know anything, they didn't want to know anything, they were very off hand and basically couldn't care less (and I was shortchanged - both times!!!). It really is very sad. Come on ladies - get your act together. A smile instead of a snarl would be so much better and, who knows, it could bring in so many more customers for you.

Shop is great staff are awful!
This shop is only one of two local cake shops in the area that i know of and although they always have what you need i always try the other shop first and only go here if i cannot get what i want from the other shop or online. This is simply because the ladies that work in this shop are so rude, arrogant, unapproachable and when you do they are patronising and stand offish. I could go on about them but most of the other reviews including mine speak for themselves. I hope the owner of the shop does read this as i am yet to find someone who does not agree and if there were more shops like this around they would probably lose a lot of custom. Just because they have the monopoly on the cake market in the area does not excuse their lack of customer service and basic manners!

The staff are not only rude, but arogant as well! Dosen't the owner read these review's? Will try the new shop in Chingford,as I no longer wish to contribute to their wages. P.S I had to supply a rating for service to submit this review, should be zero stars.

Disgraceful staff!
Unhelpful rude staff, I walked in and straight back out, would rather throw my money in the bin than spend it there. If you don't mind being spoken to like crap and being ignored then go for it......

This shop has Everything a cake decorator could ever want or need.....The staff couldnt be any ruder if they tried !!! i went into the shop at 4:50 knowing full well that i had only 10 minutes but knew what i wanted and where to find it i was met by a very unimpressed staff member telling me i had 5 minutes before they were closing..Now out of principle i use extra petrol and travel to chingford to a different cake shop with friendly helpful staff.

Very Poor Customer Service
Two star because of all the bits and bobs for making cakes are amazing. The customer service however is terrible! I am a novice cake maker and I felt very patronised by the staff in there when I was asking questions. I think that they think they can get away with it is because there are just no other shops like this one. If there was then I wouldn't go back to Twins because of the poor attitude in there and making me feel very unwelcome!!

Customer Service
Although I recently rated this shop as 5* I would like to reconsider this. This is the third time in succession that I've found staff to be miserable and rude! I've tried to avoid their delivery day thinking that was their excuse and I never go on Saturdays! Do they want business or not? I'm not sure I'll be going back again!

Great Shop, Poor Staff
I do go to this shop regularly as its the only one like it anywhere nearby. It is a cake makers delight and you can get stuff for some good prices. However, I have never found staff polite, they are not sociable when you try and talk with them and on occasion have actually been quite rude. But I would still go back simply because there is no where else like it near

Great Shop!
Although I agree that the parking area could be improved... at least there is a parking area! I've always found staff the be friendly and helpful! I bought an icing nozzle here for half the price advertised on the Internet. I can't recommend this shop enough!

Great shop terrible parking area!
A comprehensive stock means you should be able to get anything you need here. Just wish the holes in the parking area could be filled in. It also gets a bit muddy when wet.

brilliant shop
For anyone who makes cakes, Twins is a must. It is a shame that people are quick to label the staff as rude, with a little sensitivity and making the effort to speak to staff, you will in fact discover some of the staff all have have some type of special need/ disability, so not rude!!! We can always find what we need there, definitely the best for supplies in the area

Very Helpful
I am saddened to read the poor reviews of Twins. I have shopped there many times now and my experience has been a positive one. I have found the staff helpful in terms of locating products and offering advice. The store is absolutely full of cake decorating products. I certainly haven't found any other store in the area with such a vast selection of products. I can only assume that people are quicker to post negative experiences than positive ones, and possibly don't like not getting their own way when staff follow company procedures.

My Mother went to Twins, and bought some things for my wedding, she spent about £20, we then decided that we were changing the colour scheme to the wedding, my mother went back to purchase some more items and took the items back to the shop, but my mother could not find her receipt, the lady in the shop would not exchange the items, even though they had the twins price ticket on them, they said it was not company policy.... Thats the last time we will shop there
