At Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College, we understand that moving on to do your A Levels is a big step, that's why we have greater one-to-one support to make sure that you get the opportunity to fulfil your potential in a supportive atmosphere.

Queen Alexandra offers a wide range of AS and A2 courses in a friendly dedicated Sixth Form College giving you the independence to learn and develop.

You can pick the A Level subjects that you enjoy and those which fit in with your career plans. Even if you are not sure where you want to go in life, we can help you to broaden your skills and experience to progress to Higher Education at college or university, or to go straight into employment.

TyneMet has strong partnerships with regional universities with a wide choice of courses that are flexible to fit around your lifestyle and career aspirations. Award winning lecturers are here to support you throughout your studies and all of our Foundation Degrees and Teaching qualifications are awarded by the University of Sunderland. This means we can offer you great progression opportunities to top up your qualification through our partnership with the University.

Our self-contained Higher Education Centre includes IT resources, social spaces, meeting areas and interactive classrooms. We have suites of PCs in our well-equipped libraries and IT workshops, as well as a number of Wi-Fi hotspots. All students have access to TyneMet's intranet and the internet, as well as Moodle, our Virtual Learning Environment, which contains study materials, directed learning tasks and course notes.

Other on-site recreational facilities include a dedicated Higher Education Common Room, a refectory, a Hair & Beauty Salon, a Floristry shop, a coffee shop and a student-run restaurant.
