Good but has issues

I'm a current member - I would say Welti is good but not great. There are the same facilities you would expect in most health clubs, so that's obviously a plus point. The cost is also better than Bannatynes so that's another benefit. However, where it falls down in my opinion is the way its run: for example, there are signs telling you to do this or that EVERYWHERE. You cannot look without seeing a new sign telling you to not do something. The latest was on the cardio machines and it went something like "all member must clean machines after use with antiseptic wash" - I'm pretty sure this is the cleaner's job not the paying members'! Which brings me onto the next point - the cleaners. I have never seen so many (more than members at times) yet I am at a loss as to what they do all day (and whoever decided a good place for the cleaners cupboard-their main location for chats-was opposite the men's changing room door needs their head examining!). To sum it up, the parking space closest to the entrance is designated for Stephen Welti only - it's this kind of approach that gives me the impression that the club is not run with members in mind 100% of the time. I can say that overall this is a good gym but I suppose the ultimate indictment of how it is run is that when my membership expires I will probably pay more to join Bannatynes in the hope of a better all round service.
