Why use White Rose Training?

Our aim is to enable candidates to obtain the qualification with the minimum of fuss and the maximum benefit to themselves and their organisation. We do this by analysising and matching the available units to our candidates' job roles. We seek and then offer a clear pathway to achievement (but still enable candidates to follow their own route if preferred).
We simplify portfolio production by providing paper copies of the qualification components which are also available as word templates on a CD-Rom. The hard copies are placed in a portfolio and are replaced by candidate work to produce an organised portfolio by default.
Our Style and ethos as a company, is to ensure candidates are enabled to effectively collect evidence for their NVQ and are supported to do so via their portfolio, tutor, assessor and workshop sessions. However, we like to add value to this qualification, so our style of delivery/workshops includes a series of discussions, information on IAG theories and interview skills and structure, along with workshop activities designed to increase our candidates' knowledge, confirm underpinning knowledge and encourage candidates to share best practise. Via evaluation, candidates have found this a very useful and fulfilling part of the qualification rather than just simply an evidence gathering exercise. Many candidates who have progressed to higher level qualifications comment on this valuable part of the delivery and progress well with the added level of underpinning knowledge included on our NVQ Advice and Guidance courses.

Guidance has a profound impact at pre-entry, during the course and on exit of learners in education. Many people may offer guidance to students including parents, peers, teachers and ministers. However, the professional guidance practitioner offers an invaluable, impartial and client–centred perspective that empowers the learner to make a realistic and informed decision.
The quality of guidance received by learners in our educational institutions has a profound impact on their initial choice of course, retention on the course, and progression from it. The learner journey and positive role of guidance throughout the learner journey is a powerful marketing tool for educational institutions and a rigorous benchmark of excellence in educational provision.
This premise is well accepted in the UK. In April 2011, Jane Hinken travelled to Nigeria to propose a development opportunity for advice and guidance practitioners in Nigeria. The initial target audience are advisers working in universities as currently there are no Careers Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) qualifications. Jane met with Professor Mopelola Omoegun, an esteemed academic in counselling and was gratified when she agreed to be the keynote speaker at the seminar. A date has been set for September and it is hoped that some delegates will obtain funding to visit the UK early in 2012 and complete one of our CIAG qualifications.
