DAVID BOYES (Managing Director) and BARRY COYNE (DMS, Dip.FD, MBIE), previously of Dignity Caring Funeral Services, are now working together at William Charles Family Funeral Directors Ltd, an Independent Funeral Service based in Ormskirk and Liverpool, serving families in the Merseyside area and beyond.

We aim to provide you and your family with a funeral service as unique as the person whose life we are celebrating.

Our funeral services range from the traditional, to eco-friendly and woodland burials, and more besides, at a price that is lower than you might expect.

Our experienced staff are available, day and night, to meet the needs of your family at a time of bereavement, and we pride ourselves on the care and attention to detail we show at what can be a very emotional time.

About Us

William Charles Family Funeral Directors Ltd was set up early in 2011 to provide a much needed Independent Funeral Service to the Ormskirk and District area. The majority of the funerals at that time were being provided by Hunters (part of Dignity PLC) and Cookson Tyrer (part of the Co-Operative Group) and at the higher costs that the groups charge compared to Independent Funeral Providers, therefore the company converted 'Browse Around Antiques' into the first William Charles Family Funeral Directors, a luxurious and bright funeral home with openness and accesssability being the ethos.

Anyone can visit any of our sites at anytime and inspect them to see if they are adequate for their needs, should that need ever arise!

Early this year we expanded our operation and now have a second site on Warbrack Moor, Aintree, Liverpool. This site is furnsihed to the same high Standards as our Ormskirk site and offers the same high quality service at extremely competeitive rates. We are not stopping there! William Charles Kirkby is very soon to open and the standards provided there will match both Ormskirk and Aintree.

Most Funeral Companies will not publish thier prices, which is understandable as the range of products available can be so diverse and confusing. That being said we at William Charles encourage openness and below is an overview of our prices which we hope will enable you to make an informed decision when deciding on which funeral director to use.

Our Prices start from £1650.00 (not incuding disbursements*) which includes all charges incurred for arrranging and conducting the funeral, all necessary attendants, the first coffin in our range, a standard motor hearseand one limosuine. There is an option for a lower cost funeral from £1300 (not incuding disbursements*), further detail available on request.

Our Services

Types of Funeral can vary from the traditional to the modern (including eco-friendly). We provide all of the services that you would expect from a Funeral Director (or Undertaker), and also some you may not be familiar with. Our role is to coordinate all the things that need to be done when someone dies. Also we see it as our duty to help you understand what needs to happen as the Funeral draws near.

Any wishes you might have can be discussed with us knowing that they will be carried out to the best of our ability. We believe we are very much part of the Community and as such will be sensitive to your particular needs.

Funeral Plans

We provide Funeral Plans through our partners Golden Charter Funeral Plans.

Many prefer to have the peace of mind of knowing that their wishes will be carried out in full when they die and also that the funeral director's fees will be guaranteed to achieve those wishes.
