We support and provide advice to people who have a learning disability and their families.
We have developed a strategy for our charity based on extensive consultation with people with a learning disability and their families. This identified gaps in service which we have begun to address by working with other third sector organisations, local groups and statutory agencies as well as through projects we run such as the Gateway award. Through Outreach Service our outreach manager provides a wide variety of support and advice to individuals and families. We run the Gateway project which provides adults who have a learning disability opportunities to work towards an award which encompasses health, sport, volunteering, art and craft as well as a chance to make friends.
We also have a weekly social club on a Wednesday night and run a minibus as well as providing space to sell items made by people who have a learning disability in our office retail area.
