Stress Counselling

Stress is natural and often unwanted irrational emotion. Everybody experiences it from time to time. It is primary and natural emotion.

It is when our bodies release the hormones adrenaline and cortisol. The same hormones released when we encounter fear or anger. As a result of these releases in hormones our blood pressure, pulse, body temperature and breathing rate may increase, sometimes to potentially dangerous levels.

This natural chemical reaction is designed to give us an instant boost of energy and power and is often referred to as the ‘fight or flight' reaction.

About Counselling
It is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues.

Sometimes the term is used as a general way to describe all talking therapies, but it is also a type of therapy in its own right. Some of the other common therapies often referred to as counselling are, CBT, psychotherapy, couples therapy, relationship and marriage guidance.

What can It help with?
It can help you cope with mental and emotional health issues, like anxiety, stress, grief, PTSD, depression and family and relationship problems.

What to expect from it.
At your appointment, you'll be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with the counsellor, who'll listen and support you without judging or criticising.

Your counsellor can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, and find solutions to problems.

You may be offered a single session of or a short course of sessions over a few weeks, each session of 1 hour duration.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress, but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support after your 1st session or 2.

For the majority it may be more effective than medicine and medication for mental and emotional health issues and well-being as it helps to resolve the issues rather than just mask or suppress them in the same way medication does.

Hypnotherapy In Surrey / Middlesex
