Don't buy from them

All they wanted was our money and in return we didn't get what we were promised. A) They said the car will be fully serviced which it wasn't. B) They said all scratches will be repaired – NOTHING was done. C) They said we would get the handbook which we never did. I called numbers of times for above issues and none of them got resolved. So if you still decide to buy from them just check you get everything they promise before paying them. Me personally will not go back to them

Don't fall for their hype

In my opinion... despite the hype of their UTube presentation that explains their 'work ethic', Woods are just another dodgy second hand dealer. They didn't seem interested in the cars or the buyer (despite what they suggest), they just wanted my money and were abrupt and evasive in the process. They presented me with a car that they said was a gem and a car that they new well (on closer inspection of the owner/location history I seriously doubt this) and was in fantastic condition. It wasn't in fantastic condition, it didn't match the advertised description, they didn't do a full service before I collected it like they swore that they would, (unless they always use rusty oil filters ,dirty spark plugs and clogged up air filters when they do a service). Our salesman - one of the senior ones - was blatantly rude and i wouldn't trust him father than I could throw him. I bought the car (it was the one that I wanted) but got it serviced when I found out the state that they had left it in. Wouldn't go back, probably because of the rudeness and pushiness more than anything.

Buying a car from Woods of Sussex in Worthing was a truly horrible experience. We had saved up money to purchase a larger car as we were expecting our first baby and wanted to part exchange our Mini. We were met at Woods by archetypal dodgy car salesman – “George”. George is all smiles and very good at putting on the charm in order to close a quick deal. He did this with us which resulted with us choosing a Mercedes C Class which we really liked. We felt extremely rushed through the entire process and were talked at constantly when in the sales office by the owner of Woods saying it was lucky that we were closing the deal quickly as someone was on their way to pick that car up in 20 minutes!! After paying a deposit George said that the car would be ready for collection the next week. He asked for money for a tax disk which I sent him by cheque in the post. He called me to say he hadn't received the money but then realised he had thrown the cheque away in the bin by mistake! When I picked up the car we drove it home and looked at all the documents we had been given. We had been provided with a duplicate Mercedes Log Book with absolutely no service history entered at all. The car had been advertised with “Full Service History”. I then spent the next week trying to get George to explain where the service history was. He never returned my calls. It wasn't until I spoke with his boss Jason that I finally got somewhere. His solution to this was that he would send the log book off to a garage in London where he thought that it may have been serviced once to be stamped. This was Woods idea of “Full Service History”! There was also no hand book in the car. I asked on numerous occasions for this and 3.5 months on have still not received it. To top is all, seven days out of my standard warranty period with the car the car alarm system broke down and kept activating every time I locked it. I went to Woods and George was again all smiles and charm and did his best to assure me that they would look into it and that it wouldn't cost me anything. All he was trying to do was get me as far away from the forecourt as possible so as not to upset any of his deals for the day. Sure enough when I took the car in to the Woods service department they said that they couldn't fix it and that it would need to be looked at by Mercedes and that would cost me. I called George and he then went back on his word explaining that it was out of its warranty so there was nothing he could do and that I should have purchased extended warranty from them. I had to pay a further £200 for this to be fixed. The icing on the cake is that the air conditioning system smells very bad and probably needs re gassing, something that they had not done at the time of the “so called” service at Woods prior to selling it to me. This is now likely to cost me a further £100. The whole company seems to have a theory of making a deal and move on to the next sale with no regard for good customer service or after sale service. Any company with these values is surely not going to benefit from repeat business. We want to buy a convertible as our next car however will be avoiding Woods of Sussex for this purchase and all future purchases. I can only recommend you do the same.
