About Us

Working Environments commenced trading as a mechanical services contractor in 1974. Prior to that date the Company had been involved in the supply and distribution of safety equipment and carrying out remedial noise control projects. The on-site acoustic work required specialist skills such as pipefitters, refrigeration engineers, sheet metal workers and steel fabricators. The type of work being handled tended to be spasmodic and left the workforce with periods of low activity. This instigated the Company's move to mechanical services, the aim being to utilise the surplus labour that was available on the small works and maintenance. It was only some six months later a major defence contractor placed an order with the Company that demanded 100% of the Company's capacity be utilised on a mechanical services installation thus changing the profile of the Company substantially.
