About

Pheasants and their relatives occur throughout the world and are amongst the most threatened groups of species, as well as the most beautiful. In the UK we think of them only as birds for shooting, but they are important to local communities throughout the world for food and cultural traditions. They are found in places as far apart as the mountains of China and Himalayas, the islands of the south Pacific and the savannahs of Africa and the rainforests of South America and SE Asia. WPA seeks a balance between the conservation needs of the species and their habitats and of the human communities that depend on them. We have 30 years experience of developing the right solutions and combine a scientific approach with work in local communities to seek the balance so important to birds and people. This balance is crucial to the survival of both.
