Specialist Services

The first thing to know about Young Gloves is that we are a traditional karate club, we DO NOT teach "Kickboxing", if its thats you want there are plenty of other clubs around. If its karate, with all the discipline, etiquette, and tradition your after, then look no further. Young Gloves specialise in teaching traditional karate to children in separate classes (We do not believe in mixing children with adults). Both male and females from 16 years are welcome to train in venues specially for adults. Young Gloves Karate Schools will always strive to offer a safe friendly environment to train in, offering the best coaching skills to its students. In return the student will be expected to conduct themselves in a courteous manner, respecting the training area, Sensei, fellow students and parents of students at all times.

Why choose Young Gloves?

You hear of many martial arts clubs around Kidderminster, long running ones and new ones opening up and you may be tempted by the offers, that they tempt you with, to join. What you have to decide is, what do you really want for your child....A club that can give your child a Black belt within two years. That will give you son/daughter false realisation that they are skilled enough and more seriously, sensibley trained enough, to be able to state the high level that they are. That could possibley lead to confrontation and then your child being injured as they are not actually trained correctley to be able to put in too place, the protection he or she would need, or is supposed to be capable of, at Black belt level or even worse, hurt someone else and suffer the consiquences for the rest of thier life! OR A club such as Young Gloves, that takes a minimum of six years to achieve Black belt level. That teaches your child, that only once they have reached Black belt level, does the real learning of karate skills and techniques actually start to take shape and progress you further to become a true martial artist. The six years your child will have with Sensi Justin or his other highly trained instructors, teaches your child to have fun, be part of a growing family of friends, to feel confident and to learn the real style of Wado Ryu. It doesn't matter if at first your son or daughter feels that they are failing, they are taught that tiny steps lead to success and that failure, is not the right word, you are just learning. Never are the instructors harsh, verbally insulting or intimidating to the children, they teach discipline, but in the way children understand and respect. They show themselves as caring, not only whilst in the club but also if you are having issues outside the club. They give sound advice both to you and your child, which for your son or daughter, gives them the inner strength, to face the challenges, they might encounter in life. This caring attitude all round, is what makes Young Gloves such a unique club, that gives your child confidence and allows them to grow and develop into true martial arts experts of Wado Ryu. Your child will learn to prevent confrontation, not cause it, but if needs must, they will have the TRUE ability to defend and protect themselves if ever the need arises. This is truly the skills we want for our children. Young Gloves was established for children, to allow them to still be children, in a friendly enviroment to learn the skills of Karate, the way it should be taught by loyal, true and dedicated instructors who truly care. Oh and one more note. As a parent you get to meet like minded parents and not only get to watch your son and daughter learn, but you also get to learn so much for yourself!!!!

Best thing I ever did was bring my daughter to Young Gloves Karate. She has now passed her blue belt, and is really enjoying her training.

Karate is super for me and I enjoy it loads. I've made some nice friends over the six years I've been coming. Sensi always made me feel great even when I was new and a bit worried and now he makes me feel proud and confident now Im nearly a black belt. It feels good to have done so much and Im only eleven. I recommend this club to any one who wants to do self defence, as it is great fun but you learn so much at the same time. Such a friendly atmosphere.

Brought my two children to Young Gloves Karate 2 years ago. Best thing we ever did. The amount of confidence they now have and the amount they have learnt is great. They also have many new friends from the club that they see outside of training. Can't express how pleased Iam with the club.
