Best karate club in Birmingham

This Birmingham Karate club with classes ran throughout the West Midlands is outstanding. My children have trained with Kyoshi John Richards since the ages of 4 and 5. My son is now 13 and my daughter 16 they are both black belts, qualified as junior instructors and world champion gold medal holders. I am also a black belt- (I was the last one out of the three of us to attain my 1st Dan) and an association referee and I have refereed internationally in Spain Italy and Germany. These achievements aside Zen-Shin has given us so much more than just belts and qualifications. It has given my children self respect and confidence. It has given them determination and compassion and the ability to deal with anything life throws at them. As a family- (my husband is a brown and white belt) through Zen-Shin BIrmingham we have a group of friends and karate family who have supported us through some really hard times and celebrated with us through the good. My children think the world Kyoshi as do I and he is a wonderful role model and the grandad they never had - although he is way too young !! Zen-shin West Midlands is the most inclusive organisation I have ever been involved in - it does not matter hold young or old you are or where you are from as soon as you don the white suit everyone is equal and totally supported by Kyoshi Richards. There are many clubs out there and in my experience there is no other club out there like Zen shin. If you want to take up a martial art we would love to see you - you won't regret it. Jane G
