We engaged this company and though the building work was generally to standard, there were a number of problems. The detail of the job does not seem to have been fully studied and this led to later problems. There were disputes over charges levied for repairing damage caused in their working. It took some argument to get most of these repair charges dropped. There were problems with communication. This included days where they did not turn up and did not tell us they were doing other jobs, but, we were generally unhappy with the lack of consultation. Also, not letting building control know about some speification changes they made on site, contributed to some major problems. Liaison with subcontractors was not good and some essential wiring was not done. other unrequested work was authorised without quotes or our agreement and some of these remain in contention. We were left with poorly fitted showers, a leaking toilet and some problems with the heating system. The company had cashflow issues and on some occasions needed to clear suppliers debts before being able to obtain materials for our work. We understand that they had financial difficulties in the past and during the work they told us how they had been to court against other customers. We also now find ourselves in dispute with this company. We hope that other people do not have to have the same experience.
