Food poisoning, food borne illness and allergic reactions to foods can be disastrous for a business as civil claims are on the increase. Developing an effective food safety culture can prevent food-related illnesses and protect your business. Approximately 97% of food poisoning cases involve food handler error, and there are approximately 70,000 notified cases of food poisoning per annum, with over 300 people dying from food poisoning each year, therefore Managers and Staff must know their roles & responsibilities. EC Regulation 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs requires food businesses operators to ensure that their food handlers are supervised and instructed and/or trained in food hygiene matters relevant with their work activities. The Licensing law in England and Wales states that anyone who authorises the sale of alcohol to the public must hold a personal licence and those who wish to obtain a personal licence need to apply to their local authority. Applicants will be asked for a number of things to support their application; this will include proof that they hold a licensing qualification such as the BIIAB NCPLH. You can rest assured that the BIIAB NCPLH covers everything you need to know to pass the qualification's examination and apply for your personal licence. In addition, the BII also offer a staff development qualification known commonly as the ARAR.
