Barre Pilates, Pilates and Yoga

Pilates
‘In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body' Joseph Pilates
Pilates is respected and recommended by leading medical professionals for rehabilitation and enhancement of the body's performance and functionality. Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the whole body. On your Pilates course you will work on improving your posture and alignment, you will learn how to control your breathing to enhance your performance of the exercises, you will develop strong (centre/core) muscles to support your back and spine, and will improve your balance and coordination. All courses work on the original principles and fundamentals of Pilates and work towards to the full 34 Pilates moves.

Yoga
Yoga is many thousands of years old with a rich history of culture, religious beliefs and practices. Yoga translated means ‘join or unite' the mind, body, soul and spirit through exercise (asanas), breathing, relaxation, diet and positive thinking (meditation). Yoga will build strength, improve flexibility/agility, balance and harmonise the mind and body.

Barre Pilates
Barre Pilates is a fusion of ballet and Pilates at the barre. It is the most fabulous legs and glutes (bottom) workout, as well as perfect for improving posture and strengthening the whole body. You do not need any Pilates, ballet or barre experience to come along and enjoy this course. It is for complete ‘Barre' beginners.

I have been training with Pauline Ward for nearly 20 years, throughout that time she has continued to motivate and encourage me in a fitness regime that has kept me fit and active. Her latest Pilates course is superb and I would also thoroughly recommend some one to one training which has ensured I get the most out of the exercises in class and at home. We addressed relieving tension in the shoulders and correcting technique. Pauline has an easy going nature which means you can train at any level to suit how you are feeling on the day. She makes the workout powerful enough to push yourself as well as allowing time for you to work at a gentler pace.

I also highly recommend this class. I have just been to my first session and really enjoyed it! Pauline is very attentive & friendly and it's only a small class so I really felt she was tailoring things to me and my abilities. I didn't have to sit any elements out, just did simpler/slower versions of what everyone else was doing. I'm 24 weeks today and will definitely be going back next week and for as long as I can. It's a nice gentle way to exercise and relax at the same time! It's nice to have a small, local class and at a reasonable price too! Give it a try!
