About Us

First established in 1985, Alternative Software is now celebrating its 29th Anniversary and is considered one of the leading companies in the UK computer industry.
Alternative Software originally created games for the then major computer platforms; Atari, Spectrum, Commodore and Amstrad in the mid to late 80's, with numerous titles including Soccer Boss, Rugby Boss, Skool Daze, Jaws and Aliens. Other successful titles released included the children's character games, Thomas The Tank Engine, Sooty and Sweep, Trapdoor, Yogi Bear, Popeye, Fireman Sam, The Wombles and the best-selling award winner Postman Pat.
During the late 90's,the company began to produce titles for all the major football premiership clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United
Of recent Alternative has obtained licenses with all the major film companies. Through these licenses they gained the rights to produce software titles for blockbuster movies such as the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Shrek, Madagascar, Spiderman, Hulk, Fantastic Four, The X-men, Wallace & Gromit, Ice Age, Harry Potter and Transformers
