We ordered 2 flowergirl dresses which were to be made. We ordered in august and showed what material and colour was required. When we arrived for the fitting in October we were told the material we requested was discontinued and nothing remotely similar was available. Also nothing was ready for us to try. We were told to call back on tuesday to see if she could find something similar, the wedding being 5 days away! Nothing was found and now we have no dresses! Absolute incompetence! NEVER use these people!

Do not use!
Thinking of using Amethyst? Then DON'T. Please read on to hear my horrible experience, which I fear is not the only one... I used Amethyst Brides for bridesmaid dresses - a simple style to order and have fitted as necessary. However, the dresses were ordered in 2 sizes too big, which we only found out when we got to the fitting. The dressmaker was confident she could suitable adjust the dresses in time. Two weeks later (and 2 days prior to the wedding) I returned for a final fitting to find that the dress had not been adjusted as discussed and did not fit. The dressmaker wasn't there for the final fitting! I ended up at their workshop at 5pm the night before the wedding, with the dress being changed and changed again. It looked horrid... seams all puckered and not fitting at all. The dressmaker was unhelpful very rude, and got progressively more so as she could not get it right. After an hour and a half and several tries at getting it right, I lost all faith and left. She even had the audacity to try to demand full payment for the job. We made an agreement and I left to go to another dressmaker I knew of (a good 40 miles away). To make a bad situation worse the bride then received rude and threatening text messages from the Amethyst staff. My other dressmaker fixed the dress, and a lovely day had by all... but this was no thanks at all to Amethyst. Please don't make the mistake I did, avoid them!
