Who We are Carmine Italian-South Africa heritage graduated from Tswane University, South Africa with a Graduate Diploma in Horticultural Science and was awarded Dux for landscape design. In 2006 he moved to London to further his studies in garden design and horticulture undertaking various specialist coarses. Carmine has had over 10 years UK company experience working with Moyses and Stevens appointed by HRH. His last company employment was HCLandscapes , a large London (Chiswick) based design and build firm, where he was Senior Landscape Designer. His passions lies in creating harmonies between the built and living environments. Working close with his clients helps achieve a balance between site restaints and clients needs. Carmine has assisted many large projects, including 2 Gold medal dispays at the Chelsea flower show in 2012 and 2013. Carmine also runs part-time courses at a London design academy, teaching urban garden design. Design Process Designing and presenting detailed landscape plans and working drawings, including applications, construction details and specifications for the project using computer-aided design (CAD) or hand sketches presenting proposals to clients, dealing with enquiries and negotiating any amendments to the final designs. The first step is a quick telephone conversation where we conduct a detailed questionnaire to understand if we can help you and getting to know your wishes and inspiration Next step is site analysis and to formulate a brief. This is normally carried out onsite and then followed up by telephone meeting at the clients leisure. We photographthe site and discuss design details in depth with the client, or if the site is large we may suggest to do a lands survey depending on how technical design is or if site has many site constraints We then prepare a master sketch plan in CAD and, usually, also in a hand-rendered format, a CGI render, perspective drawing and a mood board which illustrate how the garden will look. Once the design is approved by the client, we prepare specifications and working drawings from which the contractors can prepare a quotation for the landscaping works. Finally, we prepare a planting plan and full planting list for client approval.
