I am very lucky to have Mr. Stephen Massey looking after me after I sustained neuro-muscular injury following an accident abroad in August 2007. Though the origin of the problem was not the back it did effect it significantly and the pain was unbearable initially. Mr. Massey took me under his care and since then I have made remarkable recovery. He traced the problem to its origins and now I am performing even better than I did before the accident. I am confident that in 6 months to a years time I would have reversed the process which lead to such a catastrophe in summer. His input has been kind, professional, caring and most importantly based on sound scientific judgements. It has not only been a healing experience with him but also a learning one. Very often we forget that each part of the body is connected to the other parts and holistic approach is the best way for long term wellbeing and happiness. I have been a Paediatrician for almost two decades and meeting him and learning from him has made a significant impact in my practice with children as well. I am hoping to see him on a regular basis for at least 6 months to an year and I am grateful to God that I met him with a problem which was still reversible. I first went to see Steve after problems with my leg after a long flight back from India. He discovered that I had a problem with a disc in my lower back due to previous surgeries. After the first treatment, I saw an immediate improvement and after a few sessions my leg felt normal again. As I suffer with fibromyalgia, having this type of treatment can cause me to be in more pain, causing a flare up with numerous reactions to my system. Steve is very knowledgeable about the condition and so working with me we were able to find out what worked for me and what didn't. I am aware that the body can take a few days to settle after a treatment, so I was happy to continue. Steve suggested we try a cranial treatment as it would be more gentle on my body. He used deep relaxation techniques, incorporating elements from my own life to make it more personal, the effect was to calm my Central Nervous System which in turn reduced the intensity of pain I was feeling. Being able to cope better with the pain has an enormous effect on my life. I now have regular cranial treatments which enable me to feel normal again. Steve is very approachable, he obviously listens to what you tell him as he has the ability to adapt the care he gives, understanding that what one person needs, the other doesn't. He works in partnership with you to give you the understanding you need to help your own body to heal. I would recommend Steve to anybody, whatever the reason they need treatment, as I believe it to be an holistic therapy, not only for skeletal issues. I am extremely grateful to have found him.
