About

Bells Training

Naturally, you want to have a career with good prospects and a good wage. Unfortunately, changes in the labour market over the last twenty or so years have meant that the days when you could leave school or college one day and walk straight into a job the next are now long gone. The jobs market today is very competitive, so a "job for life" is a thing of the past.

Employees are required to be flexible, highly trained, good communicators, have a logical approach to problem solving, and be able to work in a team, whilst also being literate and numerate. Because of this employers are interested in employing young people who have experience, practical skills, and recognised qualification.

If you have chosen to progress your career through training you can achieve all of this and more. We at Bells Training can help you find your niche and successful full-time employment

Training for Young People

If you decide on training for your career we want to make sure that you are happy with the choice that you have made. To ensure this you will be supported from day one by well-qualified people who can offer you the necessary help and advice that you may need.

Before you begin your Apprenticeship or Job Training course you will go through an 2-day induction programme.

The purpose of the induction is to prepare you for your training course by explaining what your training will involve, as well as introducing you to the people you will be training and working with. Your induction will cover such areas as expected standards of behaviour and attendance, information on how much you will be paid, what you will be entitled to, what to do if you are ill, have any concerns or complaints, on health and safety. You will also be introduced to your Training Tutor/Assessor.

During this time your Training Tutor/Assessor will develop with you the training plan that you will follow. The plan will specify what the training will involve and where it will take place. This could be either day release at college or a training centre or all your training could be done in the workplace. The plan will also detail how long the training will last for and it will specify the various stages of the NVQ that you will being working towards.

Return to Work

Retail Technology has evolved greatly in the past 5 years. The majority of major retailers are using scanning and E.P.O.S. till systems which is a great fear factor for many labour market returner's and they are reluctant to apply for jobs.

During the past 4 years Bells Training have been working closely with Working Links ( Employment Zone) to develop a programme of till training for labour market returners. It is open to all people who wish to pursue retailing as a potential career. The course is flexible so people who have children can train when they have the time.

It can be fast tracked as a one week course if you have a potential job interview or it can be covered over 3 - 4 weeks if you want to take it slowly.

Many labour market returner's don't know what's available to help them back to work.

Please give us a call if you want to get back to retail and we can guide you in the right direction to tap into our training. Visit our website for further course, training and contact details.
