BENCHMARK HOUSE HISTORIES is a small heritage consultancy based in Hertfordshire offering house history research to private home owners. The end product is a hand bound coffee table book about the history of your home.

The process involves researching and writing the history of your property and presenting the resulting text, along with professionally taken photographs of your house and garden, in an individually designed hardback book.

Projects range from cottages to castles: our first book was on Chilham Castle in Kent. Other subjects include thatched cottages, mills, rectories, court lodges, hall houses, a forge.
